This place has one of Milan’s most beautiful courtyards and it is a great setting for lunch. Food is ok and does not reach the same level as the atmosphere.
Beware of the maître d who profiles at the door and sends all tourists to the far back. Refuse those tables!
It used to be a Milan must, but has slipped significantly.

First they charge you 30 Euros for plain bread, and tell you that the table costs 20 euros. ???? OK that makes 50 euros for some bread and a chair. What an experience...The Ravioli was dry and taste like factory food. Funghi with pasta was good. The service was not friendly. We never come again.

Being italian, its very easy to identify an exception pasta dish.
Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone offers not only incredible and delicated food but also an environment that makes your visit unforgetabble.
Every dish is delicious and ingredients are fresh. The burrata is a go to.

Each time I go to Milan, going to Il Salumaio is a must.

Not just a beautiful site but also a delicious Italian lunch. Pasta with truffle followed by scrummy Branzino cooked and encrusted in salt to keep the whole fish moist. (God I hate that word. Moist. But there is little worse than dry fish...maybe dry chicken breast...which is why you should always have thigh.) all washed down with cervaro the best Italian white wine.
Have a son at Bocconi business school and this restaurant is a must on every visit.
