This is a great restaurant for Pugliese food. Small and almost always very busy, you need to book.
But the food - well it's just too good. To be honest, I'm a lover of cavallo and their sausages and (and last night, as they'd run out of sausages) their meatballs are stunningly good. So tasty that I can taste them now!
They do fish, cheeses and, even, pizzas.
But, if you can stomach cavallo, the sausages and meatballs are really something else.
Really good value for money too. Not far from Corso Buenos Aries and worth the trip.
Service isn't really fantastic - hence the four stars instead of five!

Located in a not-tourist area of Milano, Il Trullo is a great experience for the lovers of Pugliese cuisine.
A small and somewhat simple place, the restaurant has a "cucinna della mama" feeling, where the waiter really cares about you and helps you to decide which is the best plate for your taste.
Tried the Orecchiette with ragu a cavallo, just one of the best dishes that I've had in Italy (and maybe in the world).....and remember, everthing is "100% Pugliese" (they even put that on the menu).
Do not be shy given the location or the appearance of the place: Il Trullo is a fantastic experience!

Small but great restaurant. Food was really good. Had clams and mussels in tomato sauce and garlic with pasta. This was amazing! We also ordered pasta with cheese and rocket it was ok but the sea food won big time!
Non could manage English but after a little of google translate and old fashion showing groceries we did order. Wine was good and so was the service. Had some olives for starter, a full plate amazingly good!

I was in Milan for a business trip and i took my partner with me and we stayed the whole week end and hat time to explore a bit more of the city. Although we are big fan of Milanese cuisine "Oss Bous" etc, we decide to try something else. Concierge advised us this restaurant, we had been in London at Ennoteca Turi which is close to where we live, and we had an idea of the Pugliese style of cooking. I must say that the difference is great all the product were supper fresh and the portions gianormous. Enrico the concierge guy was wright when he said " Se manga di brutto" which in London slang can only be translated "You get a massive wicked meal". I do recommend "Orecchiette alle cozze" or cime di rapa. There is a great variety of wines don't hesitate to ask to taste different ones until you find the one you like. I would highly recommend this place for their quality of food and standard of service and the enormous portions. Method of payment are also good u can pay on credit card or even in #Bitcoin. I hope I will have a trip to Milan soon for another taste of #Il Trulo

PERFECTO!!! Every dish is a masterpiece of local order! The wait staff are so very pleasant and accommodating. I struggled to decide between 2 dishes and the waiter surprised me with a free sample of the other option! All of the food was the best Ive had in Italy to date and the prices are extremely reasonable.
