This restaurant is very known. It is visited by quite a number of tourists. The space is huge and they have a lovely terrace(although be prepared for musquetoos during summer). Try the pasta and for those who like meat the escalope Milanese. Don't forget to ask the dessert charriot. It's great. It's a busy place with coming and going. Service is moderate and very typical. If you like to see and be seen, go there.

A simple pizza (margherita), a plate of tortellini bolognese, two tiramisu, one bottle of mineral water (75cl), and a coffee (expresso) = 49 euro+tip
I found it a bit expensive, but it was good and the staff was nice and friendly.
Those with a tight budget should avoid taking any extra (especially desserts, they just double the bill).

The food (pizza with Parma ham/mozzarella/ice cream with strawberries) was in the average, the service medium and prices high

Milan was our first stop our our recent tour of Italy. Having arrived in the morning we had one day and night to see the city. Our hotel was near the Duomo and I had heard about Santa Lucia which is just down the street from both the hotel and the Duomo. My wife and I went by in the afternoon to make sure we could find it and having read the menu, we were excited to return.
We had no reservation so we arrived right when they opened and we were seated. The restaurant filled quickly and less than 1/2 hour later they were turning away walk-in diners.
Our waiter was exceptional. He spoke very little English but he was very animated and communicated wonderfully through facial expressions and animation. In fact, we liked him as much as we liked the food.
We began with a house selection of antipasti and then we had the rigatoni strascicati and spaghetti with olive oil and chili. They were exceptional! The following desserts were fresh and delightful. The evening was capped off with expresso and an amaretto.
We will most definitely return on our next visit to Milan.
