Description: In ancient Mexico City, the Spanish conquistadors discovered a new kitchen indigenous to their palate, where corn, chili and tomatoes, beans, spices, avocado were the basic ingredients. Mixing ethnicities and cultures, were added rice, beef, potatoes, chicken and centuries so was born the modern Mexican cuisine. Papas & Beer Milan was born here in 1999. Tacos, burritos, chili con carne, enchiladas and the famous fajitas are just some of our many dishes, enriched by the experience of years of work. Not forgetting the traditions, however, we have been able to meet the needs of customers today with tasty salads and vegetarian dishes. We have added a touch of novelty in the dishes, but in essence we were true to ourselves. At Papas & Beer everything is color, atmosphere, fun, as always. And our staff is here for you. We wait.

I was looking for a yummy mexican restaurent in Milan and I found this one, read the reviews on tripadvisor and it seemed good. It is actually the first time that I've been to a restaurent that has good reviews and actually was a nightmare.
I made a reservation for 19.15 and when we arrived it was closed. It said on the door that it only opens at 19.30, so why take a reservation before??
Then we had to wait in the cold until 19.40 although the waiteress saw us waiting outside. Very rude. After 25minutes of waiting she unlocked the door but didnt open it for us. How rude again? I'd normally have left by then but there was no other restaurents around and we were starving.
We were the first customers, the waitress was texting on the phone and not serving us.
I ate nachos con guacamole. The sauce was definately from the box. After i had a burrito chili which was really not good either. I would never recommend this place to anyone else, it was really horrible.

The outside of this restaurant belies what's inside. An unassuming exterior but upon entering on a Saturday evening revealed a lively atmosphere with a mixture of groups and couples. I suggest you make a reservation if its a weekend. The place was packed. We had the mixed starter, various deep fried thingies served with four delicious dips. The dips were nicer than the fried things! Then we had the combo fajitas, chicken and beef with plenty of tortillas and all the sides. Delicious. With a jug of sangria this came to 66 euros for two. Good value. I wouldn't go too far out of my way to visit this place but if you're tired of pizza and in the area give it a try.

This somewhat quaint Mexican restaurant is located in a very travelled street, making it easy to find. The staff is welcoming and more than willing to help you understand the menu.
We went for 'Festa della donna''... and had a fun time. The frozen margaritas were a bit watered down, but as we asked for more tequilla--which was added to the next carafs. The nachos are great...and a few of us stuck to just eating those with the margaritas(which is quite filling as is).
The fajitas are a bit disapointing, the meat(chicken) was dry and actually was overly seasoned with ginger!?(not sure how that ties into Mexican cuisine)?
There were plenty of chips and delicious salsa to consume.
The tacos were average-and when we asked for tomatoes-a 4 euro charge for 'insalata mista' showed up on our bill...
great atmosphere, good margaritas, chips, salsa and nachos...
average ''2nd piatti''...
A bit disapointing. Also, not sure this restaurant was ''Mexican'' as there were many South American flags on the wall(to other countries)-as well as having hamburgers on the menu?
Fun place, but stick to the Margaritas!

This restaurant is a good option for a dinner with friends. the atmosphere is the typical tex-mex with some local details here and there.
The food maybe is not the most authentic mexican...if you have been to mexico you may find some difference in the flavour, but i think they have properly adapted the food to local tastes. Nothing is extremely spicy and you have a menu which goes from typical tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, enchilladas, to barbecued meat..
We started our dinner with a great margarita accompanied by nachos with melted cheese on top.... then for main course we had combo fajitas (beef and pork). the taste was good and not too spicy...other friends ordered the barbecued beef and were also satisfied.
we paid around 35 euros per person. Overall we were satisfied by the quality of the food and the taste... but if you're looking for very traditional flavours, maybe this is not the right place... this is perfect if you want have mexican translated for italian local taste.
