“Friendly and clean”
Reviewed September 13, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We loved Stressa and the surrounds. It is an excellent base to explore the area and the scenery is spectacular. We had a very friendly greeting from Renato and he went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. Our only issue were the dogs in the area. There were about three living next door (perhaps temporarily as it is also a holiday home) and it seemed that every second house owned at least a couple of hounds. One dog barking would set many in the neighbourhood off. I am sensitive to noise and don't own pets myself and so found this quite difficult to relax around. There is also a train, which runs along the front of the block of flats. However, if noise is not something that bothers you and you don't have mobility issues (at least a 20 min walk to Stressa and steep staircase in apartment), this is a very good value, clean and friendly place to stay.

“Lovely apartment in a quiet location”
Reviewed September 9, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed in this apartment in the last week of August . It is really clean and there is everything that you need. The covered balcony was a real bonus and stayed cool in the hot days. The views of the area are lovely and you can see the lake if you look to your right. The little supermarket has everything you need and they are so friendly and helpful.

Renato collected us from the bus stop and even took us on a guided tour to show us where the supermarket and restaurants were. He offered to take us to the station at the end of our stay but was unable to make the time we were leaving. However when we started out for the station one of his friends stopped us and offered us a lift to the station as he said everyone is friends in carciano. I would really recommend this apartment which is just a short walk into Stressa away from all the crowds. If you have mobility problems the stairs would be difficult.

“Wonderful host .Excellent facility.Great value”
Reviewed October 9, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We found this apartment perfect for our needs. Renato collected us from the station. He had provided for everything including a cot and toys for the toddler. The location was quiet - so good night's sleep and very short walking distance from the lake and town.Supermarket with a lovely family run environment a few minutes away served all our needs and the view from the balcony was just lovely .
Thank you Renato

“Excellent Value for Money Apartment”
Reviewed October 1, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed in this apartment towards the end of September and we really enjoyed the area. The apartment was very clean and has everything you will need on holiday. Renato the owner will make sure everything is ok including picking up & dropping off at the bus stop or train station if needed. On the negative side the apartment is about a 15-20 mins from the centre of Stresa where most of the restaurants/ bars are (some peaople might prefer to use a car), it is close to a train track (although the noise never bothered us) and the spiral staircase might not suit everyone.
We enjoyed walking in the area and there is a ferry stop at the bottom of the village (Carsiano) that goes to Isola Bella and from there using the Lake Navigation Maggiore Ferries you can get to most villages on the lake. You can buy daily tickets for the ferries.
There is a small but well stocked supermarket close by. The prices are very reasonable and the staff speak good english. Overall an excellent apartment at a good price.

“Excellent apartment for a couple”
Reviewed September 28, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The apartment is well situated, well equipped and very safe, the owner, Renato values safety this is evident in the apartment which makes one feel very safe. Within close proximity is the best mercato ever, the owners have everything you need for your holiday needs. A short walk down to the harbour you can take a boat anywhere around the lake, visit the local bar and restaurant, the barman is a rugby man so we were able to watch the opening game England - Fiji of the World Cup and other games. We also had our 2 cairn terriers with us, the tourism industry in Stresa is a well oiled machine, so having 2 dogs did not pose a problem. We can recommend the Chestnut Trail from Stresa to Belgirate, excellent walk with surprisingly very few people, Belgirate, nice village but restaurants are situated on the main road which is very noisy with many many many motor bikes out enjoying the nice weather. Renato's apartment is just out of Stresa and away from the hustle and bustle of Stresa.
