Owner description: Magnificent landscaped park that features botanical trails, rose garden and an animal park. There is a section dedicated to the childen with a large playground and a very large pet farm where the children can touch the animals. You will also find a bar, a pic-nic area and a giftshop.

We went there in the trenino - tiny train which we expected to make a tour of Stresa on the way, but it simply went straight uphill to the Villa. The gardens had some interesting exotic plants and shrubs - lovely colours and flowers but not spectacular. Saw flamingos and some birds (giant macaws, pretty multi-colured rosellas,) but very few animals and the cages did not look good. The park is very poorly signposted, so we never seem to have reached the part where the main animals supposedly were. It was a lovely day and we enjoyed the garden but it was on the whole rather disappointing.

This privately owned little park is not up to the expectations in its marketing. While the gardens are OK, they are certainly not "spectacular" by any means. The "Zoo" part is in a word....SAD. The fenced animals are hardly kept in "zoo-like" conditions and the grounds are poorly maintained.

The 9.50 euros per person entrance fee would be better spent on a nice pizza and a couple of beers.

The gardens are spectacular, it makes you want to just sit there & enjoy the lovely atmosphere created by all those beautiful flowers!! Our 2 girls enjoyed especially playing with the friendly mountain goats! However, in my opinion, the zebra looks a bit out of place in the park.

This is a delightful day out suited to all ages. The parkland setting hosts and entertaining zoo of contented animals, which roam the pastures with minimal confinement. It offers the visitor some spectacular views of Lake Maggiore, and also some informal gardens with imaginative colourful planting. A fantastic place for a picnic, and only a few minutes out of the bussling lake side resort of Stresa.
For smaller children or for the 'young at heart' there is a fun railway style transport with open carriages, that departs frequently from the main lakeside Stresa car park,

Gardens were nice but animals kept in poor conditions. Not sure it would be allowed in England. We saw a very sad zebra and monkeys who just paced back and forth constantly. There was an open area for some animals but even this was awful with just loose ground and not suitable for animals to be kept on. Would not recommend it.
