A quiet garden gem, with lots of alpine plants in pleasant environment. not best time to visit for the flowers though. The view point gave a stunning vista of the lake, its islands and the mountains around. It's 40,000 sq m so plenty of walking although only a small part cultivated as alpine garden - the rest is meadow/woodland and endangered bog area. good value at 3 Euros entrance, 300m from mid cable car station.

A short drive up from Stresa (30 minutes) provides you with a garden setting with some of the finest view of Lake Maggiore. You don't have to be a plant specialist, to enjoy the magic of this place. One word of warning the rustic benches provided for your repose, are all a bit rickerty, and likely to collapse so take care. for those with a weak bladder, there are adequate toilet facilities, but not quite star rated....That apart for a few euros a must visit.

Easy to visit from the Montarone cable car middle station - 300m walk along level road. Found the garden a little disappointing as some of the plants labelled were dead and others difficult to see as felt shouldn't be veering from the path onto the grass to see them. However, was interesting display of many Alpines. Spot with benches overlooking the lake was lovely place to have a seat for a few minutes and take in the scenery with a helpful board naming all the surrounding hills etc. Entry fee was modest so can't complain.
There are toilet facilities but it is a squattery so you need strong hips and knees ladies!

10 minute walk from cable-car station. Nicely laid out and takes about 30 minutes to walk around. Only down point was the rather rustic toilet facilities. We are not fans of squatting toilets!

Great views but other than the entrance not a lot to the garden worth paying a few Euro's for the view.
