This little restaurant is situated on the main square Piazza Cadona and whilst the guidebooks say avoid the restaurants on the Piazza I have to disagree. On our previous trip to Stresa in 2012 we ate here several times and the food was consistently good. This year we returned to Caffe Torino and were not disappointed - the same high standard of cuisine was evident. I had the best ossobuco, the best melanzane parmigiano to name but two dishes. The staff are warm and welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The one night we arrived there at 9pm and they were getting ready to close (it is out of season so one should expect this) however, they recognised us as regulars, welcomed us warmly and served us a delicious dinner with 2 limoncellos on the house - now that's what I call hospitality. You cannot go wrong at Caffe Torino so don't be put off by the guidebook crits.
