Its an easy cab ride 40 pesos to the museum from Catemaco, the Olmec artifacts are very interesting, much more than the large heads the culture is famous for, carved cats, other objects that defy description, except to say difficult to imagine how an ancient people were able to carve such hard stone, as not all objects are made from a volcanic stone. Also some very old spanish armor, art work, furnature, and models of ships, old cannons, and other objects that make it worth the trip. It would have deserved a 5/5, except the visiting hours are needlessly limited, and closed on mondays, (check before departure). The nearby zocolo offers much interesting people watching, some food, and hungry pigeons.
