We stayed last week for 4 nights. We arrived to be shown to our room and couldn't believe how close to the lake we were. With the balcony door open I could lie on the bed and hear the lapping of water from the lake. It was so relaxing. The hotel's terrace, where you can eat breakfast, leads onto a man-made "beach" with sand and sunbeds. Then the lake is just a couple of metres away. No road, no traffic noise. Brilliant
The hotel is clean with friendly staff and family run. We opted to have the 4 course dinner on 3 nights because it was good value at 20 euros. We had been away for nearly 2 weeks so it was quite relaxing to just walk downstairs for dinner plus it was good to get vegetables with the meal ( we were getting tired of paying extra for veg. at restaurants)
We never used the car once we arrived as the ferry point was just 4 minutes away, as is the lovely promenade. We preferred Baveno to Stresa it had a much better lakefront.
we would recommend this hotel if you want views and a peaceful stay.

Room Tip: Definitely get a lake view.

We felt as though we had stepped back in time to a wonderful era of holidays in a grand hotel on the water. There was an old world elegance that we got swept up in. The staff was gracious and helpful, the rooms clean, and the breakfast wonderful. We had a tiny balcony that was big enough for wine sipping with an amazing view of the lake and Isla Bella. It was a short walk to the ferries for the islands and a convenient base to get to some hiking spots in the Alps and a great birding spot in the nature reserve area just 15 minutes to the north.
Breakfast here was marvelous, and included in our room rate. Cappuchino's were amazing. When they discovered that we had an early checkout in order to make our train, they deducted our unused breakfast from the bill.

The best features are the location and the family/staff that run the Rigoli. One must have a lakefront room as the views and experience of the changing landscape are priceless. We arrived late the first of our 4 nights and they extended the dining hour so we could enjoy a full dinner. Portions are very generous. The location is very convenient for ferries, roads to other lake areas, walks to local restaurants. The beach is very rocky & locals knew to bring water shoes, which we picked up at a shop nearby. A member of our group needed medical care & Claudia, the owner, offered excellent advice on our options. It was reassuring to have her on site & her advice was on the mark.

We stayed at Hotel Rigoli for three nights during the last week of June. We wanted the lake view and were a tiny bit skeptical based on the price. The reviews here were good however so we went with it. We were not disappointed with any aspect of this charming hotel which we learned has been run by the same Italian family for nearly 70 years, We had a first floor corner room which is actually up one flight. Our room seemed fine upon entry, but the magical moment came when the shutters were opened and the lake view was revealed. Maggiore in all its glory lay directly beneath our balcony, with Isola Madre directly in view.

In addition to the great location, the staff of this hotel could not have been warmer or more accommodating. We particularly fell in love with Claudia at the front desk, who went out of her way to help me through a "crisis" with my business back home in terms of computer and fax support. She also was sweetly encouraging in terms of my using the little Italian I know.

Finally. our half-pension breakfasts, which we took out on the back terrace by the lake, were wonderful and again the charming staff fell over themselves in getting to know our likes for coffee etc.

Wonderful place! Wonderful stay!

We chose this hotel based on the reviews and in general were really satisfied. The location is excellent, the room with lakeview is nice, though the aircondition did not work and it was very warm during the night, we did not sleep well. Breakfast was delicious, also the cappuccino was excellent. A fridge in the room would be very helpful but this is a 3 star hotel, so could not be expected. When checking out., we received some discount from the original price because of the AC problem and also a nice bottle of red wine which we already opened and it is really good. Recommended hotel.
