What a lovely hotel. It is family-owned and operated and the folks couldn't have nicer or more helpful. The location is perfect, the breakfast outstanding and upon leaving, the son Carlo have each of us a biscotti-like cake to take with us. We later saw similar ones selling for 12 euros each. A real find. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We came to the area of Lago di Garda, and we wanted to stay at this hotel because we read great reviews here at Tripadvisor.
We called the hotel an hour before we arrived to Sirmione and asked them if they have a lake view room - and they had one.
The hotel is inside Sirmione, and not outside on the way over there, very good!

The room had an amazing view of the lake, because it is located on the water (you can see that in the photos i uploaded). And it was very cleean and well decorated.

The staff was very nice to us, helped with every question we had - about the lake, recommended places and restaurants.
we decided to stay there an extra night because we didn't want to leave.
when we Checked-out they gave us a present - A home made pie. that was a very nice and thoughtful surprise!

We definitely will Go back there!

Thank You!

We Stayed for 2 nights in April, and found it in Lonely Planet guide....The family was so friendly and helpful. They go out of their way for you. The rooms were great - we had a lake view room, and our kids had the room next door. It was quiet, clean and very comfy beds.
The breakfast has to be seen to be believed....like a patisserie - but better - and more! - all made by the father of the family...so you can smell the cakes being baked the night before! Yum! My kids were over the moon! When we left, they gave us 2 cakes ! They were so sweet...you can tell its a family run business, and that makes all the difference.
Its right on the lake - which is gorgeous...make sure you drive to all the little villages around the lake - all are very pretty.

We chose to stay here on the strength of the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. The hotel is a little oasis in the otherwise very busy tourist spot of Sirmione. The best thing about the hotel is its staff. They were without a doubt the most friendly and helpful staff/family I have come across in all my hotel visits. They could not do enough for you and I think that's why guests always leave with such fond memories of the hotel. The second best thing is the location. Stunning. It really is worth paying a little extra and getting a room with a lake view.

The rooms are not particularly charming but are large, clean and funtional. The bathroom was old but again, clean and large. The communal areas are of a much higher standard and the outdoor terrace/ garden area is great for sunbathing or outdoor drinks.

Sirmione can get very, very, very busy (we were there on May Day and it was packed with day- trippers) but you really do escape from the hustle and bustle of the village when you are in the hotel grounds. It is a perfect base for the seeing the lake and also offers a little oasis of calm when you have had enough.

Have stayed here twice - first in Oct '05 with daughter and two friends and again in Oct '08 with husband, daughter and her new husband. The first visit made us want to return someday. Both times a very enjoyable stay in busy, bustling touristy Sirmione. On the first visit, we had one room facing the lake and one with side view - both nicely done. The rooms aren't huge and aren't fancy, but clean and well-appointed and we weren't spending much time in there. On the second visit, the honeymooners had a side lake view room and my husband and I were in the annex. I had tried hard to get the second room in the main building, but it was a holiday weekend in Germany and the hotel was busy. The annex room turned out to be fine, again not fancy, but serviceable. My concerns about noise, with a room facing the courtyard driveway, were unfounded. The hotel's location, set back a bit from the main road/walkway through town, is very pleasant - in the middle of things yet slightly removed.
All staff members we encountered were very agreeable and Carlo, the manager, assisted us with securing a car rental one day and created a list of nearby vineyards/wineries that we could explore on our own. The hotel also has several bicycles for complimentary use and we rode to Peschiera del Garda and back one morning.
We found the extensive breakfast array to be a very good start to the day - several hot items and much pastry. More than enough to get one started for a day of exploring the town and beyond. The hotel does serve dinner and although we dined elsewhere, we did enjoy wine and snacks served on the terrace in the late afternoon - beautiful sunsets over the lake. As a previous reviewer stated, try the local Lugana white wine - very nice. The hotel's proximity to the ferry stop made for easy exploring of other lake towns - Bardolino was having a wine festival one afternoon - fun. For history buffs, the Grotte di Catullo is located at the end of the peninsula, within easy walking distance of the hotel, and is a very intriguing preservation of a one-time private Roman home. The views are spectacular and the ruins so interesting.
As previously stated, the family-run Marconi makes its guests feel welcome upon arrival and hoping (while enjoying the home-baked departure cake) for a return visit.
