Hotel Clodia is a lovely small hotel about 20minute walk from the centre of Sirmione. Our room was very nice (90 EURO per night), light, spotlessly clean, modern with a great balcony. The breakfast was very good with a good selection to choose from and the staff friendly. Although the 1-2km walk into Sirmione centre was not a problem for us, it may not be suitable for the elderly or anyone who doesn't want to walk. The walk into Sirmione is flat and runs down the side of the lake so was actually quite a nice stroll. Highly recommended.

we stayed 9 nights in this family run friendly hotel. our room (no.2) had the largest balcony in the hotel and was nearly as big as the room itself. bathroom rather small but still spotless and modern. Monica at reception was very helpful and spoke good english. a good varied breakfast and nice gardens to stroll around. located a 5min walk to the lake but a 20min walk to sirmione or colombare. we made use of the free hotel bikes and took them into sirmione most nights. no complaints, good value. no swimming pool but be sure to use the pool at the nearby villa pioppi - excellent .

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights during our recent holiday. Monica in particular is very friendly & helpful and made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely room with a patio so could enjoy the sunshine, along with a bottle of wine ordered from Monica. Only criticisms would be that the shower was a little snug and we were disappointed that the coffee at breakfast was self-service from a Nescafe machine. However, we would definitely stay at Hotel Cloida again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good value hotel at Lake Garda. Even though the hotel is not right on the lake, it is only a couple of minutes walk and there are also a couple of excellent restaurants within walking distance. I'm not sure of the amenities that the hotel offers - I suspect they are fairly limited but this is what I would expect from a small family type hotel such as Hotel Clodia.

Despite being very busy the staff were always very helpful.Rooms have been updated with LCD t.v.which allowed us to keep up with the news at home.Great varied breakfast.
A brilliant base for touring Lake Garda and surrounding area.Highly recommended.

We stayed here just for a couple of nights, but knew straight away that I would be coming back one day! The staff are very friendly and helpful - we were slightly early for check-in and our room wasn't ready, but we were offered the use of their facilities to freshen up after our journey. The room we had was just delightful, with a huge balcony, and was beautifully furnished. There is a good choice for breakfast and a bar (although we didn't make use of it ourselves).

The hotel is a bit of a walk from Sirmione (very pleasant walk), but we were grateful for this as the town was extremely busy the weekend we stayed as there was a festival on, and the hotel is set back off the road in a quiet location. We took advantage of the hotel bikes on our second day and rode into Sirmione which was very pleasant.

Loved this place!

We stayed at the Clodia hotel for a week while we were in Sirmione and had a great time. It's a lovely family run business and a great base to explore Sirmione.

The rooms were excellent, very comfortable and clean. I liked the quaint and traditional style of the bedrooms! Also, there was a good selection of food at the breakfast buffet - toast, cereal, croissants and cakes. It's a nice quiet and peaceful location.

There is no pool, but you can use the pool of a neighbouring hotel. The Hotel Clodia also has sun loungers outside around the hotel - it was nice to relax here with a couple of drinks late afternoon. There's a small bar at the hotel where you can purchase alcoholic and no-alcoholic drinks. Most days we were out and about exploring Lake Garda, so we didn't need a pool. Additionally, there are sunbathing spots around the lake, there's a really nice one right at the bottom of Sirmione. You can lie by the lake side or hire sun loungers. It's next to a large cafe where you can buy food and drinks when you want a break from the sun!

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. They gave us leaflets, maps, bus and train timetables to help us explore Lake Garda! There is a bus stop near to the hotel which connects with Desenzano, where you can get a train to nearby Venice, Verona and Milan, it even does as far as Florence! The hotel also has a private car park where you can leave your car if you need to.

I think the hotel Clodia is a great place to stay and very reasonably priced. It's about a 20-30 minute walk into Sirmione. We liked that it was set back from the main town as we enjoyed the walk in and out of Sirmione. It gave us a chance to walk off all of the ice creams and great food that we'd eaten! The walk into Sirmione is pedestrianised all of the way and runs parallel to the lake, so it is a really pleasant walk. Possibly, if you are walking with really young children or are older you might be put off by the 20/30 minute walk. You might be better off choosing a hotel that's closer to the centre of Sirmione, but you'll not get as good value for money as you will at the Clodia!

My wife and I stayed here while touring Italy and Lake Garda. We got the boat down from Limone and landed at central Sirmione. There was a taxi rank but no taxis (how often is this the case in this part of Italy, taxis are terrible around Garda) - just out of the castle there is a tourist info building, the woman in there very helpful, a bus around the corner leaves every 20 minutes would take us right past Hotel Clodia at a cost of €2. This I suppose would be my only criticism of the Hotel Clodia, it doesn't cater very well for people without cars. The long drive is all gravel so pulling a wheeled suitcase over it but can be quite a chore. It's only a short ride in a car so the Hotel might consider providing a pick-up service for people travelling from other parts of the lake, I'd even pay if this service was available. The Hotel itself was lovely, spotlessly clean, the room was nice: tidy, well kept and pretty good. High celing with an air-conditioner, balcony and bathroom with shower cubicle. Breakfast was pretty good, small selection of warm food and you could help yourself to as many nutella rolls as you liked. Great that you can sit outside while eating, how lovely to breakfast alfresco. The Hotel is a good 25 minute walk from Sirmione and the buses stop at 8.30 so you may wish to do like we did. Have your day in Sirmione and travel back at like 5/6 to freshen up or snooze. Then dinner somewhere near the hotel, there is a great restaurant almost opposite, on the lake front up some steps, can't miss it. Another tip is if you're spending a great deal of time in Sirmione then get some cash out before you go. There's only 2 cash machines in Sirmione and when we were there, one wouldn't accept any foreign cards and the other was out of cash. The old town is only a short walk from the hotel as well, I would say about 10/15 minutes the other way and there are few more ATMs there and more restaurants. Any questions about the hotel, Sirmione or Garda then get in touch, I love to help people with their holiday. Ciao.
