“July 2013”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

We visited this hotel in July 2013. Ideally situated close to the historic centre of Sirmione, but set away from the busy centre itself. Great service- pre-dinner drinks ( and snacks!) were a particular highlight. Plenty of fresh fruit with breakfast. Very relaxing holiday

Visited Sirmione in July and was delighted with both the resort and hotel and would certainly visit both again.

The hotel is short walk from the centre of the lovely town of Sirmione and is ideally situated in a quiet area. We stayed in a standard room and whilst having been in bigger rooms, the present exchange rate (almost £1 for €1) made it expensive. I work on the basis that you don't spend that much time in your room on holiday so paying extra for a balcony or sea view wasn't worth it. Our room overlooked the back of the hotel but that didn't both us.

Breakfast was standard fayre but enjoyable. Didn't have any other meals there but what we saw looked very good. Lovely touch in the afternoon, about 5pm, was when tea, coffee and cake was served each day by the pool, for no extra cost.

What I loved about this hotel is that it was small/medium sized and around the pool was still very quite and relaxing during the day.

Rooms were always kept clean and I couldn't fault the service we were given.

We stayed there as a couple for 2 weeks at the end of August, we stayed half-board and booked via Inghams. One of the reasons we selected this hotel was the fact it specifically noted how they catered for Gluten free guests.

The hotel room we stayed in was clean, basic room, no view. It was cleaned every day and each night our pool towels would be replaced (with some nice fruit jellies awaiting). The pool was very nice and there was also a Jacuzzi right next to it. There was plenty of sun-loungers around the pool, even when the hotel was fully booked there was plenty to go around.

Breakfast was a buffet style affair with mostly fruit/breads/pastries/hot food, gluten free options and made to order coffee.

Lunch (which we had occasionally) was served out beside the pool. Again, gluten free options available and the food was very good.

At 5pm each day there was tea and biscuits/cake offered free beside the pool, which was nice.

Evening dinner consisted of 4 courses (appetiser, first course, second course and dessert). The food was really good and every attempt was made by both the waiting staff and the chef to accommodate gluten free. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and especially the attentive nature of the staff, who remembered our dining preferences (not to mention speaking excellent English and being incredibly accommodating).

Sirmione itself was an excellent location with the old town being so close to the hotel, this includes the Sirmione stop for the Lake's boat service - which meant visiting other places along the lake was possible (we used this quite a lot during our fortnights stay). Also Sirmione has both the historic Castle and the astounding huge ruins of the Roman Villa to see. Its an excellent location for a holiday.

We didn't visit the hotel's new Spa during our stay, but all in all we both felt really impressed by the hotel and its staff and would have to really recommend both the hotel and the location as a great place for a relaxing Italian holiday.

it was an amazing hotel. All the staff there were very good and helpful if you have an allergy. it was in an amazing location about 5 mins walk from the town where there are beautiful shops and so many restaurants and attractions like a beautiful interesting castle, the lake boat trips and so much more on practically the door step but not to close into the town so it was nice and peaceful and quiet. Me and my family had to change rooms on the last day because of a double booking but we knew that before we went, however they did try and put us in the nicest room posible which they susceeded to do. the first room was a beautiful and big room with a hige balcony and space. it has a bath and shower which was nice. it was clean. the only complaint was they didnt replenish our toiletrys every day and we had to ask at the receptioon for more shampoo which i think was odd. all the pool stuff are so friendly and lovely and there is a bell at 5 oclock when afternoon tea is served with a lovely collections of teas, biscuits and cakes. breakfast was lovely with a good selection and everything was very good. i enjoyed my stay in sirmione and in hotel olivi and would happily stay again

This was our second trip to Hotel Olivi, and to the wonderful medieval walled town of Sirmione on the shores of beautiful Lake Garda. Since we were last there in 2010, they have refurbished the Hotel and installed a 5 star, absolutely top quality 'natural' spa - which you must go to if you visit the hotel. My wife has been to many of the world's top spas and says this is up there with the best!
We took the half board option, with a double room overlooking the Lake and the pool, with balcony. It was the most relaxing week I can ever remember - wonderful hotel, wonderful food and drink, some of the friendliest staff of any hotel we have ever stayed at, (and the owner works hard there every day) - and the evening strolls after dinner into Sirmione, perhaps a 6 minute walk at most, to do window shopping, relax and have a coffee amongst the bustling tourists who come to the town for its great restaurants and shops, not to mention the hisitoric castle and old buildings. Sirmione has the substantial remains of an awesome Roman Villa, one of the best in Northern Italy, so well worth a visit.

All in all, 5 out of 5, superb experience.

The hotel offers reasonable value for money. At the same time be prepared for a few surprises. The visit to the very much promoted and advertised spa (indoor pool, saunas, etc) is charged for. This was a true life experience to be offerred to pay 23 EUR for a dip in the pool. Rooms are small, wardrobes hand made with veneer. Same plywood probably used for the walls because once can hear everything happenning next door and probably two doors away too. Nice pool, nice breakfast.

On a next trip to Sirmione I will look for alternatives.

Stayed at the Olivi Hotel for 3 nights last week (Aug 2013) with my husband to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We had a fantastic time, we love Sirmione and Hotel Olivi.
We had a lake view room with a large balcony (room 102). The room was beautifully decorated, it was clean and had plenty of space for all our luggage etc. The room was cleaned and fresh bathroom towels provided every morning and every evening we received fresh pool towels for the next day.
All the staff were friendly and pleasant and seemed happy to help, although we never really had to ask them for anything.
The pool is a good size with plenty of sun loungers both with shade and without. Waiters will bring over drinks for you from the pool bar.
Afternoon tea was served at 5pm at the pool bar and I'll have to admit this was a high point for me.
The hotel location is great, its in a quiet location so you're not disturbed at night by other holiday makers but its so near the restaurants, bars and gelato shops of the old town. The old town is lovely to stroll around both day and night.
We found it very busy in Sirmione but always managed to find a restaurant with a table over looking the lake or the castle.
We didn't use the hotel spa so I can't comment on that. We stayed on a B&B rate as we like to eat in different restaurants every night but we were very pleased with the breakfast. I've never seem such a large selection of food on a breakfast buffet.
This is the one of the best Hotels I've ever stayed in.

Room Tip: Rooms 101, 102, 103 & 104 have the largest balconies.
