“Italian kitchen cuisine”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

Went with locals to this local spot. Authentic Italian cuisine - great focaccia bread, tasty ravioli. The house wine though we had to send back - very surprisingly! The rose was undrinkable and the house white not much better. Next time order a bottle - there seemed to be lots of good ones on the shelves! Worth a visit if you want an off the tourist trail Italian experience - but not, you need to speak Italian.

“Cute, Rustic & Authentic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013 via mobile

A very cute little osteria in the heart of Como's old city. Lovingly decorated with roosters of every kind. Very large selection of wines & spirits. They have daily lunch specials that vary constantly. You can pick from among a half dozen or so choices. I had a roasted veal that was very tasty. My companion had a nice pasta with fresh vegetables & local cheese. Dessert was a fresh strawberry pie. House vino rosso was good quality. Coffee was excellent. Definitely would go back. Locals eat here.

“WERE LOCALS EAT”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

Small and tight quarters. Loud and busy lunchtime. Good quality food, worth a visit to a restaurant that has been on one of the side streets of Como for many, many years. We found it because we were with locals.

“Excellent home pasta”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

Once again we are in Como visited this place twice. Love the atmosphere and the food. Owners daughter cooks, mother manages the room and father assists. They come from Madesimo up in the mountains where Bresaola comes from. You must start with freshly cut bresaola followed by home cooked green vegetable salade where you can taste each flavour. I either have their lasagne or ravoli filled with ricotta, squash so delicately cooked. As it was easter, tradition is to eat the baby lamb cooked so tenderly. We tried 1994 Chianti at 12 Euro delicious. Ask Giuseppe for wine recommendation. Very good selection of digestive drinks mostly local.

“Great local restaurant in the city center”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we were definitely not disappointed. We arrived around 2pm and there were a few other parties waiting for tables ahead of us. This is a family run restaurant with good home cooking and no written menu. They have a few offerings every day, and everything is made in house. We had the lasagna, fish with polenta cakes and meatballs, and it was all so delicious. For dessert we had the creme caramel and the chocolate cake. Fantastic! Most staff do not speak English, but that was not a problem. Although it was really busy, we didn't feel as though they had forgotten about us while we were waiting for our table. They even moved us to a nicer table when one became available.

The food here is great. Make a reservation to avoid waiting for a table. As it was Easter weekend, they were closed for the rest of the time we were in Como, but if they had been open, we probably would have eaten all our meals here!
