“Pristine Attraction”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014

I did not go inside the Villa, but stopped there as I took a walk around the grounds and look at the beautiful view! The front of the building (facing the lake) is pristine, with some very nice but very basic landscaping and marvelous fountain.

“Not what you think.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

The front of the building (facing the lake) is pristine, with some very nice but very basic landscaping and marvelous fountain. Take a walk round the building to the rear (facing the main road) a very different story, extremely run down. Glass missing from windows, rotten frames. The positive is the small cafe at the entrance, very friendly, clean worth a visit just for that!!!!

“interesting sculpture in very attractive gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

unfortunately we arrived only 1/2 hour before lunch so could only visit the downstairs- which was excellent but would like to have seen more. Gardens were pretty and there was a number of marine life modern sculptures added to the classical ones. definitely worth t he visit and go by the footpath that follows the lakeside to see other villas which aren't open and also possibly a sea plane taking off or landing

“Villa impressive, gardens o.k.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

This is a villa situated on the very southern tip of Lake Como in the town of Como. The guide books tell you that the gardens are something special. We didn't find it so. They also mention that the villa is closed to visitors except when there is an exhibition. Lucky for us they were setting up some conference which was opening in a few days and the people in charge invited us to come inside (only the first floor) to look around. What a surprise. Magnificent frescos on walls and ceilings. Took our breath away. The gardens cannot compare with what we saw on the Borromeo Islands and along Lake Como. Nice for people to walk their dogs in though.
