Stayed at the Hotel Borgovico for two nights in May. It's located on a small street on the edge of the old city, just north of the Como S.Giovanni train station and near the Stadio, about a 1km walk to the center of the lakefront and <2km to anywhere in the old city. Parking was easy enough for me, as they happened to have one of the two parking spots in front of the hotel available (which was €5 a day), but if those are taken, you can park in the large underground garage a couple blocks away (which was €15 a day when purchased through the hotel at the time of my stay).
I had the "French single" room, which had a larger bed than a standard single. It was a small room on the fourth floor, but comfortable enough, with a view of the hillside out the window. Everything was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful with dinner suggestions and such. Breakfast was the usual Italian continental assortment and was all quite tasty.
Overall it was a nice stay and a very good value; I would definitely return if I'm in Como again.
