Liked everything there, very impressive! Great architecture and surroundings. Not as crowded as in Rome and other large cities and plenty to see and enjoy! Unique atmosphere.

Wonderful architecture and beautiful paintings inside. Defintiely pop in and see this place! There was a big catholic clergy ceremony the day we went and it was full of nuns and priests - quite a sight!!

The facade of the Cathedral was begun in the late 1300's and incorporates many statues in its fabrication. Inside, one is impressed by the huge volume of space enclosed and the high naves. There are several Renaissance alters and hanging tapestries and an exquisite pulpit and dual organ pipe display. The Cathedral is tucked away but is easy to find. Hint: Leaving the railway station (San Giovanni) head directly down the stairs through the park with the "Hands Monument" to the military and then straight down to Via Garibaldi. Look for the little signposts directing you to different sights. Also, when facing the Duomo, turn left and follow the arcade to the waterfront for more restaurants, hotels, and Lake tours.

I was impressed - after seeing so many beautiful Italian cherches in Rome and Tuscany - that the one in Como was so beautiful
