I ended up giving four stars, but my feeling is closer to 4.5 stars. Once again, we found our intended restaurant to be closed, so we tried one nearby – Ciboooh. In this case, it was a fortunate find. We had lunch on a day when all other tables were occupied by locals – many apparently business people. We had the three-course lunch menu, each choosing different dishes, with house-selected wine. The chef is clearly talented, as the ingredients, sauces, and presentation were all very good. The chef’s choice is to make everything al dente that can logically be cooked that way; I know some people would consider such pasta and vegies undercooked, but my wife and I found them to be spot-on – cooking thirty seconds less and they would have been undercooked. While there was a traditional basis for most dishes, most also exhibited some creative flair of the chef. The wait staff was very friendly, but professional. It was a tough choice to eat inside on a beautiful day, but we very much liked the modern décor and the jazz playing softly in the background. We found the lunch plus very good wine to be an excellent value. When we have the opportunity, we will return and try some other things on the menu that looked interesting. Of course, that will push up the price.
