My lasting memory of this hotel is the absolutely dire WiFi service. The WiFi signal in my room was so weak that for a good part of the time, it was unusable. My smartphone - which did better than my laptop - would have to be held near to the hotel room door. Move back towards the bed and the signal would drop completely away. At times, my laptop was only able to hold onto the signal for just a few seconds. So unless you are prepared to do your online business sat in the hotel foyer, then you might struggle in your own room.

The one thing I must say though is that, contrary to what other reviewers have said, I found all the staff to be very friendly. I arrived too early to check-in - which I knew - but the receptionist went out of their way to apologise that my room wasn't ready and even got me a cup of coffee while he hurried the housekeeper to get it ready. All the staff seemed to speak good English too and I never had any problems communicating my requirements. Every interaction was met with a smile.

This is a typical mainland Europe 3-star hotel, so you might need to adjust your expectations, but I slept well in the sparsely furnished room and the air-conditioning seemed to work very well. The breakfasts were OK and in line with what I would anticipate. There isn't a safe in the room, just a tiny box, for which you need to rent a key, though it was too small even for your average smartphone.

So overall, if you're looking for a simple place to stay in the lovely Lake Como area, then this is a good choice. It's very close to the main train station too - just a short walk. But if having a reliable Internet connection is important to you, then you should probably look elsewhere.

Not a bad location but not pretty by any means - but for one night it's fine. Beds were comfortable, spreads and such very old fashioned. Breakfast decent but not great. We were able to park right outside and didn't end up having to pay for the garage. It's an OK choice for a night, I wouldn't go there for any longer.

Stayed here for 4 nights during Italian GP and though the rooms were clean and of a reasonable size the let down was the breakfast. The milk was warm for cereals and tasted of UHT, and the standard coffee was awful, ask for cappucino if you want something other coffee that tastes like instant coffee (in Italy this was a real disappointment). Secure parking was good but expensive at 15EUR a night and added to the city tax, made this an expensive stay. Reception staff were friendly and helpful but breakfast staff were less so. This hotel is OK but would probably look to stay somewhere else if I returned.

We unfortunately stayed at the best western como for two days in August. We arrived at 3 pm only to hear our room is not ready yet. We had a lot of luggage and decided to wait for the room. While waiting for the room the rude front desk staff mis placed our passports. Eventually found our passports and then checked into our dated room. The second night we came home to the hotel only to find the curtains were gone. When asking the front desk they just shrugged their shoulders and told me there is nothing they could do....we just have to sleep with the lights from the busy road shining into the room.

To summarise stay well away..rude staff, dingy rooms and most rooms only have view of the busy road running past the train station.

Impressive exterior sign on a poor building that should have been renovated a long time ago. Poor Reception desk, narrow and unsuitable lobby. An underground parking whose gate cannot be opened unless you get down from your car, go to the reception inside the hotel and ask the clerk to open it for you. Then, the only way to get out is to use same gate. NO lift in the parking that could lead you inside the hotel. One wonder how could he get his luggage from the car to the hotel and out of it. Although the performance of the responsible of the Breakfast salon is not to be criticized but he employs untrained and irresponsible staff.
The hotel advertises a free WIRELESS internet. Once at the hotel, You discover that it is only for 24 hours and you have to re-connect again with User name and a long password every time you go out of the hotel and come back. Very unpleasant.
Unless completely renovated and trained staff employed, A room in this hotel should not cost more than 40 Euros instead of 110 Euros. Nonetheless, one blond lady reception clerk was quite helpful and kind.

While Bellagio and other midlake towns are more charming, this location has a wonderful old town and ready access to lake. From the outside the hotel looks average but it was a pleasant surprise from the time we stepped in the lobby. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were a good size and clean, the internet worked well and breakfast was excellent with many choices. We were able to explore Bellagio and Menaggio as a day trip.

I must admit that my first impression was anything but great! The rooms and area surroundingu this hotel were not exactly what I've grown accustomed to. But the the rooms were clean, everything incl. AC worked and to crown it all the staff, Massimo at reception and his pretty assistant made my stay great from complimentary (with a played frown) late check out to a free bye-bye prosecco. Will surely be back when in this area!
