A welcome and friendly greeting was followed by opening door to a clean, comfortable room in good repair. Everything worked. Information folder, comfortable bed and bar fridge. Walking distance from train station. If you have suitcases, there are a lot of stairs to get up/down to main street. Taxi was only 5 euro, so worth considering. Breakfast was nice. You can ask for the bread to be toasted, and they will happily oblige and bring to your table. We had not achieved this option in other hotels that had bread without a visible toaster. Good value for money. We stayed in 4 star hotels that didn't touch the sides in terms of service, cleanliness and price. Comforting to read they are independently reviewed annually, which shows.

Room Tip: Front views face main road, train station and mountain. We did watch a spectacular thunderstorm from...

We had one of the last rooms available, but it was quiet, facing onto a courtyard. Staff were extra helpful, making arrangements for us to visit some hard-to-get-into sites. The room was spotless, not big, but with space for everything. The hotel is a short walking distance from the Duomo and the lake front. Parking is either underground for a fixed price, or on the street outside for an hourly rate of E0.75. Breakfast was excellent with lots of cereals, fruit, meats and cheeses.
The elevator broke down in the morning - tough if you are six floors up with bags! Make sure it is working if you are given an upper-level room.

Room Tip: Make sure the elevator is working if you have an upper-level room. Request a view room if you can.

we asked for a view and got it looking out over the road to the mountains

we had booked the senior rate for the over 65s and had a lovely room into our hallway with a big seperate bathroom with bath and shower over very nice
all the windows opened and had blinds outside

good air conditioning which stayed on so lovely and cool to come back to

we had breakfast which was taken in two rooms always able to get a table
hot drinks served to your table
plenty of good continental food, lovely fruit etc and my husband enjoyed the cakes

we had five restaurants within 5 mins walk so no need to get hot going into town in the evening
it was 34 plus in the shade that week

we had a lot of help from the reception team

lending me a charger for my mobile
ringing France when i had a problem and general nice smiles and a happy word when collecting and leaving the key

we had a litre bottle of ice cold water from the bar twice a day and it was only 2 euros so no need to carry it in

the TV was fine
tea and coffee and well stocked as soon as i requested the tray to take up to the room

an extra pillow and a safe key all for free when we arrived
very good qaality for a three star

good lift and we were on the 5th floor

I would use this hotel again with no hesitation

Room Tip: ask to be on the r front of the hotel higher floors great views

We stayed here for 6 nights on a business-related trip and we really don't have too many complaints about this hotel as we knew what we were looking for when searching for a suitable hotel in Como. There is no view and it is not a hotel for relaxing in, it has a strictly business-hotel feel, quite charmless and commercial. It is conveniently located about 10 mins walk from Como San Giovanni train station which is the main route to Milan.
We also picked it for air conditioning and free wifi access, which other grander hotels in Como don't necessarily offer for free. You need to get a new username and password from the front desk every 24 hrs to have wifi access but it is a small inconvenience, and we did not have any major problems with internet access throughout our stay. A/c was cool but still felt a little too warm when it was 30C outside. And the location is just outside the city walls, so it takes barely 10-15 mins to walk to the Piazza Cavour (harbour) as well as to the Duomo. It is not an altogether unpleasant walk but the immediate neighbourhood around the hotel doesn't seem terribly attractive, however we did not feel unsafe at any point. There are plenty of decent restaurants just near the hotel, even unassuming-looking ones that are reputedly very good. The room itself was dark, of a satisfactory size and furnished with all the basic amenities one would expect. The safe was tiny and could only hold small documents and cash. The beds were also a little too springy to be truly comfortable, and the bathroom was very cramped. On the plus side, however, the hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a rather humdrum and unremarkable buffet spread. I'm sure there are more attractive places to stay in Como but we have no real complaints about this one and on the overall, it was a fairly pleasant stay.

We stayed at this inexpensive hotel for three nights. It is a good base for exploring Como, Milano and Lake Como. It is located in the center of the town of Como, within walking distance of the train station (for Milano) and the boat docks (for Lake Como). The room was modest and a little dark, with a tiny shower, but the desk staff was very friendly and gave us useful directions and a map. We left our car in their garage next door. However, the garage is difficult to find as there is a double row of tightly-packed cars parked in front of the hotel, which is on the main street. Once you find the opening to the garage, you have to block the service road with your car and run into the reception to ask them to open the garage gate. As usual in Europe, the garage is small and I could barely turn my 4.7-m long car around. There is no direct entrance to the hotel from the garage, and one has to carry the luggage up the ramp into the street and up the stairs into the hotel. Breakfast and dinner were surprisingly good. We would stay here again for the convenient location and price.

We've stayed here a couple of times on the way to the Adriatic coast, or on our return to Germany. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Small pets are welcome. Breakfast is as usual in Italy, more towards sweet things, but there is ham and cheese to be had.

The town centre is about 5-10 min walk, and the lake about the same. Parking can be a problem if you don't want to pay the €15 for the garage (which only has about a dozen spaces).
