“Good but not great, order hotter than you want”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

We are spoilt in England with Indian restaurants so coming to Namaste was a nice experience but I would never rate as my top Indian.
Like all restaurants it adapts to the country it is in and I knew Italians are not into hot food but I made a mistake and ordered the madras which was not hot at all, the taste however was nice. Tip...Order hotter than you normally would.
70 euro got us 2 large Indian beers a bottle of water, 2 mixed starters (good value), Sheekh lamb Kebab (Ok but a bit dry), Korma Curry (watery), chicken madras (medium), 1 rice, nan and keema nan (both good), extra raita and mango chutney, rice dessert and a coffee plus a grappa on the house,
Many people around us were led by the owners and ordered the set dinners (lamb, fish, vegetarian or chicken) 22-26 euro and to be honest what I saw they looked to be a good option particularly for those unsure what to eat.
I will definitely return and try some different things and order a some hotter options.
Note for the 'home' indian chefs, come early as there is a small supermarket attached selling spices

“Nice place but needs some atmosphere.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012 via mobile

As hard is to find good Indian in Italy, Namaste is a nice treat. Food is simple but genuine, service is kind but not super efficient: the place lacks of some atmosphere. I would certainly go back as I adore Indian food, but they can definitely improve.

“Lot of flies around :@”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2012

The place did not seem to be clean. Lot of flies around. The food is decent though. Be careful about the service charge. We were taken aback by the added service charge in the bill but maybe it's normal in Italy. Good Indian food otherwise.

“Come alive owners”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2012

Had lunch here twice becos it was so good. BUT the owner couple are so un-alive. They play the most dreary religious music(which would be fine in a temple) and have pics of Indian Gods all over(also ok in a temple) but for Gods sake, this is a restaurant. We went there to have fun not pray. Lighten up, guys.

“A wonderful surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2012

I have lived in this area for 3 years and never knew that one didn't need to trek down to Milan for great Indian. Boy, was I surprised at this gem right here in Como. I have to admit that the neighborhood is a bit trafficky and parking is a challenge but it's worthe being presistent. The ambience was charming, the service was reserved yet thorough, and the food … delicious! We’ll be back!
