“The First Stop for Silk Scarves”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We visited the delightful town of Bellagio on Lake Como and wanted to purchase some silk scarves for taking home gifts. After looking at a couple of shops we found this delightful store of quality silk scarves, stoles, shawls, ties etc.
The colours and patterns were stunning and the price was acceptable for such quality goods.
The staff were very helpful and gave advice without pressing for me to purchase. I did, in fact, purchase two beautiful scarves made of locally produced silk and cashmere. They are lightweight but warm and have exquisite patterns on both sides (almost like they are reversible).
One is in warm tones of orange and browns and the other in a rich purple colour in a kind of paisley pattern.
If you are looking for a silk scarf make this your first stop, you won't be disappointed.

“Top quality silk and merino wool, at an excellent price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

There are two Azalea stores. The one at Salita Serbellona 31 is owned by the parents; the smaller one at Salita Serbellona 41 is owned by the son. The "31" store is good -- nice silks at a good price; the styles are similar to a number of other stores in Como, and the price is competitive. The "41" store is where the real value is. The prices are a little higher, but the owner (Luca) has an incredible eye for style, color and quality. We ended up buying quite a few items for ourselves and others. His clothing and scarves are the most elegant we saw in several towns. These items would sell for two or three times as much in NY or Washington

The "41" store also has does not hound you like some stores do. There were some stores where the "helpful" storekeepers would follow you around and tell you about every item you looked at. Luca keeps a respectful distance, and is available to answer questions, but lets you wander about as you want.

“The OTHER Azalea, just up the street, "genius" of Italian Style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Luca, the son of the man who owns the original Azalea, operates the other Azalea, at Salita Serbelloni 41, just up the hill. THIS Azalea is listed in the French Michelin guide. That is just a hint of what an amazing experience this place is. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that the quality of genius is that you recognize the new idea as one you always had but had not seen. When you witness Luca;s sense of style, you will know that it is the ultimate in Italian Style. He chooses items that are simple and elegant. This is a distinct difference from the overwrought or ornate items that some might think of as Italian. Luca also only chooses the finest materials. Think of a Ferrari, Think of Marcello Mastroanni. Think of Ducati. You will be on the track of the "other" Azalea. In other words, if you want to buy a beautiful but simple and elegant piece of clothing that is never trendy and will never be out of style, whose material will also last, go to visit Luca. Also, and here is the best part, talking to him and hanging out here is an actual experience. It truly is. This is what the high fashion stores in Milan SHOULD be like. Do not miss it.

“Amazingly friendly store”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

We wandered into the Azalea store, looking to purchase some gifts for family to take home. We were so well taken care of, and encouraged to look at, open, and feel the scarves there. We certainly purchased more due to the wonderful service and attentiveness of the staff. It's a must stop on your walk up this street.

“Great silk shawls and cloth in a beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

Azalea is a great shop for scarfs, shawls, cloth and ties in a high quality, whether it is silk, cotton and other fabrics. They sell brands like Missoni, Versace and the home production.
The owners of the family business are pretty nice and welcomed already stars and important persons in their shops like Rajinder Singh, Barack Obama and Andy Garcia.
Azalea is located in a beautiful site in Bellagio old town on a stair street with nice flowers, restauarants other shops. We love to come back soon.
