The hotel is very conveniently located right next to the ferry stop. The staff was very helpful and friendly during the checkin process.

We booked a corner room on the top floor. I cannot stress enough how breathtaking it was when we entered the room. There's nothing particularly incredible about the decor of the room, but the view is absolutely amazing. We had a balcony on the lake, and two balcony windows on the street side (one in the bathroom!) We really felt like we were in heaven.

We met Ivan, the manager of the fine dining restaurant, the first night and he made such incredible suggestions for our trip. Please go across the lake and do the hike to San Martino. It's one of those "I'm with God" moments when you get to the top. It offers such a great perspective of the lake. He also suggested his friend's boat rental company which we did for a day (great deal) and got to explore the whole lake.

We ate at the fine dining restaurant twice, and the more casual restaurant twice because they were both so good. The breakfast was also delicious. There is nothing better than enjoying breakfast with a view of the lake.

I really can't say enough about this hotel. It's location, quality, and helpfulness is to die for. You feel like you're in the lap of luxury for a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: Definitely get a top floor corner room. Incredible!

Spent two magical nights at this hotel-it was amazing!. We opted to spend a little extra and get a room with a large terrace (worth every cent)-hugh space with umbrella, tables and chairs and the most breathtaking views over the lake and mountains. The rooms are large and well appointed with all the usual mod cons and are spotlessly clean. The hotel is right on the lake-easily reached from the ferry which was important for us as we were travelling with heavy luggage. The reception staff are all fantastic and so helpful(organised bus timetable and tickets for us,checked on train timetable when train strike on,offer information on tours, shopping ect) and all speak perfect english. We had dinner and lunch at the restaurant and have to say wish we had eaten all our meals here. The service and food was five star at half the price and the food was devine-best food we had in all of italy!. The breakfast is also delicious with a hugh variety and that fantastic view of the lake-what a way to start the day. My only regret is that we did not have longer to spend at this fantastic hotel.

Room Tip: if you can afford it -get a terrace room-we had the end terrace room so had a great view in alll directions

My wife and I spent three nights here and I spent a long time researching options before choosing here. At the risk of appearing slapworthy and unsufferable, I am very very glad that we chose here.

Two reasons:

1. The staff - reception staff were wonderful and genuinely helpful - their recommendations for shopping and places to eat were spot in. A particular highlight was warning us away from a local restaurant (well rated on this very website) because they could not help but report all of the recent comments they had received about poor service during the winter season. Exactly the kind of thing travellers need to know.

2. The location - the hotel amenities were absolutely fine, the room spotlessly clean - not large, but used the space very well. But that's not why you should come here. God is smiling on you if you manage to get a room with a forward facing balcony or terrace because waking up to the sunshine on the water overlooking the whole lake was worth the price of the room by itself. It is perfectly situated.

Breakfast is good enough, the continuity smooth and efficient.

I find it hard to believe you will do better for the money in Bellagio.

Room Tip: If you're booking in advance, move heaven and earth to get a room with a 'front facing' balcony or terrace. Our room was 227 and it was perfect.

Hotel was FANTASTIC. Had a nice large hotel room (by European standards) and a HUGE terrace with a lake-front view of Lake Como. Absolutely spectacular, breath-taking views. This hotel is the closest hotel I saw on the lake (others are across the street or up on a hill). Hotel is located right in the center of town and within a half block of two ferry stops. Room was decorated with antique furniture and high ceilings with wainscoting and backlit crown molding. Very accommodating and friendly front desk staff. Very good breakfast with a wide selection of items. One night the restaurant next door had outdoor entertainment that we were able to enjoy from our terrace while having our wine and cheese. We ate at L’Antico Pozzo and Terrazza Barchetta. Both are very nice family run restaurants with very good pasta, pizza and meat dishes and friendly staff, located on side streets a few blocks from the hotel. I would recommend the latter for a more romantic dinner (see separate reviews of each).

Room Tip: Recommend room 110 as it is the largest and has the biggest terrace overlooking Lake Como.

After much research this hotel is right on the water whereas the others are across a street. What a view from the lake front rooms - "A View to Die For". Breakfast was simply great! Both restaurants were quite good with a beautiful lake and mountain view. The roof terrace was a great location for a picnic. Can't wait to return.
