A small boutique hotel with friendly staff and just breathtaking views of lake Comp.

Our room was quite small but it was modern and clean with a balcony overlooking the lake.

You do need to compromise a little if you want the lake view you are a long way from internet router and we had to stand by the door to get a signal.

The hotel is about 10-15 mins walk from the centre of Bellagio. The road from Como to Bellagio is very narrow in places and Italian drivers typically don't give way. If your nervous suggest taking the road on the other side of the lake and using the ferry. For a car it ranged from 15 to 20 euros. The other upside of using this road is you can visit the magnificent villa Balbianello that has wonderful views fantastic gardens and was the setting for the romantic scenes in star wars attack of the clones.

The restaurant in the hotel is also very good it specliases in slow cooked fish.

A nice hotel with a few minor niggles, but more than made up for with the location and helpful staff.

눇About 10 minute walk downhill to Bellagio town centre. Quiet place out of the way. There is a bus stop directly opposite where you can take the bus to Como. You can walk down the nearby steps to the lakeside. Breakfast was simple but satisfying.
In-house restaurant had pretty good food but menu was limited. This is because the owner catch the fish themselves.

The staff were efficient but perhaps not so warm. Bed was simple. Room decor was nice though. Rain shower in bathroom was strong. The toilet seat was in a corner which would have been a bit tight if one was fat.
We had a balcony room but it didn't look out to the lake - we booked partial view - so it was our fault. One had to stand at the balcony and peer to the other side to see the lake. We wanted to upgrade but rooms were already fully booked.

Getting here required a local train from Milan to Varenna (1.5 hours). Then pulling our baggage all the way downhill (10 mins only) to the port and getting a ferry across (10 minutes). Try to arrive in daylight hours so you are assured of the transport. Departing from here, we took the bus immediately in front of the hotel to Como. Bus was quite fast through winding roads (i think about 1 hour). Then a local train to Milan.
So which do we prefer ? bus or boat ? i think both methods are just fine. But do remember you need to pull your luggage downhill in Varenne if going by ferry (or take the cab for 10 euros) - if you have heavy luggage you may wish to reconsider coming by bus.

Outstanding location 1km from the center of Bellagio. Our room had a comfortable bed, clean and tidy (small) ensuite and an amazing view over the lake. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food in the hotel restaurant is very good. Loved the walk into town each day (15 mins) through the magnificent Melzi garden. If you are traveling by car their location is preferable to staying in town. Highly recommended and will definitely be staying there again.

Positives:
The breakfast was continental and I really enjoyed it. Lots of variety and things like freshly squeezed orange juice or you could boil your own eggs. The location was the absolutely best thing about this place! It's 15 mins walk from town but that's totally worth it as you can walk to town through some beautiful gardens (which you need to pay for - 10EUR for 2 days I think or 6EUR for one) or on the road most of which has a walking path and the views from the hotel and on the walk down through the gardens are beautiful!
We also had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was one of the best meals we had in Bellagio - although don't get the traditional sardines starter with corn!

Negatives:
The rooms were very small and we didn't order the cheapest/smallest calibre of room either. The balcony blind was broken which a member of staff told us about when she checked us in but didn't mention that there would be any attempt to fix it and there wasn't even though we were there for 3 nights. Our tv was unplugged and our airconditioner didn't work (however in their defence, we didn't mention any of these problems - they were aware of the blinds) so perhaps they would have made attempts to fix them/move us to another room had they known.

Internet was sketchy at the absolute best.
