“Exceptional service - beautiful location.”

Attention to service is what makes this hotel, especially when Sylvia is at the reception. We arrived at the end of the season so we paid a reduced rate which included a lovely buffet breakfast. Our standard size room had a small balcony with lake glimpses from the side of the hotel. When the weather was poor we took our books down to read beside the fireplace in the restaurant lobby. The meals offered were good value (15-20€) and outstanding. Free shuttle was Attention to service is what makes this hotel. always available for the 3 minute ride to and from town. We met guests that return year after year - not surprising considering all the extras. Strong recommendation

We were in Bellagio for 2 nights and enjoyed everything about the Hotel Silvio. Everyone at the front desk was extremely helpful, the breakfast was great and it was in a very convenient location. The rooms were very clean, the bathrooms were spacious by Europe's standards and the best part was staying in one of the rooms that overlooked the lake.

Room Tip: Definitely choose a room that looks over the lake!

Gorgeous location! Immaculate room with french doors leading to a private balcony overlooking the beautiful lake! Super location... walk to town, hike to the lovely town of Pescalo, or the opposite direction to Punto Spartivento, lovely beach nearby, beautiful gardens! And most of all, incredibly friendly and helpful staff! (Thank you Silvia!) The breakfasts were the best we had thru our entire trip begining with fresh orange juice and wonderful cappucino, to delicious cheeses, meats, eggs and the BEST croissants! We were made to feel at home, and hope to return to this lovely hotel. Tutto magnifico! Grazie mille!

We were surprised to find this hotel out of the main town area but they do have free shuttle to town or you can take a 20 min. walk to town through a private estate garden for a small fee. The dining experience was a "10" with a fantastic chef who seems to be well known in the area since the dining room was full every night. The staff were very friendly and helpful and would definitely stay here again. Our only complaint, which is minor, is that our room was very small and didn't have a lot of room for luggage. We feel we got our monies worth compared to other places we stayed at in Italy.

We booked last minute, from the moment we arrived the staff were so helpful and nothing was a problem, we got some info on what to do, and went for a afternoon walk down to the lakeside, it was magic, we were told about the lake front walk throught the park and building's and decided to them the following day and some other recomendation's all were good, we returned for a light dinner and desert, it was great, and sevice was excellent, we are New Zealander's and English speaking, so to get good advice and upbeat service and understading, it was so great, so we booked another night, they even kept us our same room, we enjoyed our time here, we did dinne again, and the breakfast's were brilliant, the young lady made us freash cappachino's as we wanted them, we would highly recomend this hotel, and would love to stay agin, what more can you say! give yourself time to enjoy it.

Room Tip: The balcony was good, but from what we saw they all are good room's and with the big outdoor are...

Here’s the low-down on the Silvo, in particular room 4 on the main level. The room, linens, bathroom, and common areas are very, very clean and updated. The water pressure in the above your head shower nozzle is to die for (took two showers in one day just to enjoy the “waterfall”). There is a free parking and a free breakfast (not that fancy besides the orange juicer). The toiletries are great (will only get one shower gel/shampoo bottle per day after the first day - so save the lotion, shower cap, etc.). There is a vacuum looking hair dryer. The electric plug for your own hair dryer that has a voltage dial did not work (by the way, you also need the adaptor for US plugs, for example to charge your phone). There is a balcony with a good view of the lake that you can actually sit on with put-your-feet up chairs and a table, but you have no privacy because the other two rooms share the same balcony separated by a pretty iron rail. There is a refrig, which was nice for dinner picnics and wine/beer drinking on the balcony. The room is crazy small - picture a king size bed against a wall and then the remaining walls are 2 to 3 feet away from the king size bed. The bathroom is equally impressive in the smallness area. I am a size 4 and 5' 7", and I could touch all walls and shower door from sitting on the toilette. If you are trying to shave in the shower, you are a better woman that I. You get three pillows that are thin - may need to ask for more pillows because there is no headboard to the bed. The service is understaffed (you will wait at the front desk for awhile until someone hears the bell you are dinging). The service is very nice and sweet, but equally unknowledgeable about what is going on the area. For example, they know nothing about hiking/walking around the area or major local events that are in the area. So, just do your research ahead of time on day plans/needs. The internet is 10 euros for 10 hours (you can log on and off to maximize for time). You can buy in less amounts of time, but the hassle is probably not worth it if you are staying 3 nights or so. By the way, we could get only one English channel - CNN (bring your ipad in case it rains). There are two grocery markets up the hill less than 5 minutes away. The hotel suggested the first. Forget that, and go to the second one a minute more down the road because it is much better. The TI in the town did not have all the maps, etc. The TI in Tremezzo is better with more maps, etc. and more helpful (keep in mind that both the grocery and TI have limits on hours and even days that they are open). The pass for the garden that connects the hotel to the town is necessary if you have a problem with walking within a foot a racing Italian driver (quite a rush but freak out moments may be unpleasant). Unfortunately, the garden closes at 6 pm. Even if you buy the pass, you may have an adventure after your dinner meal in town due to the garden’s hours. You can hear your neighbors through the walls, but not too bad. The Hotel had a wedding Saturday night. From inside our room, I felt like we were actually at the wedding party listening to YMCA, etc. The good news is that the wedding knocked off a little before 11:00 pm. Overall, I think the hotel was probably a good value for the area (area hotels are $$$), and you are not going to spend much time in your room (unless it rains). However, given what I have mentioned above, we might spend more money for more luxury if we come back to the area - it is a vacation after all. The Grand Hotel Tremezzo looked awesome if you can swing the room price. Have an awesome time. Lake Como is a beautiful and fun place.

Room Tip: Go for the suites.

We were part of a wedding party and stayed at this hotel. We were in an upstairs room with a beautiful view of the lake. The room was nice with large bed and nicely appointed bathroom. Breakfast served daily was awesome with fresh orange juice and lots of choices. The wedding dinner was at the attached restaurant and it was excellent with a variety of local selections and great fish. The staff was accommodating to all the guests. The locale is a little walk into Bellagio town down a tight road, but a very short drive and the Silvio staff often times will give you a lift. Great experience in a beautiful setting.
