Managed by five generations of women, this hotel is perched above and therefore commands some truly breathtaking views of Lake Como.

When we arrived, we parked in some of the free parking in front of the hotel. Whilst checking in, we were greeted with warm smiles and complimentary glasses of juice on a very hot day. As we stood there, it became clear that we did not require the use of the garage for which we had paid extra - and the hotel manageress immediately suggested she transfer that sum of money as credit for extra hotel services - such as food and drink, which we had planned to spend at the hotel in any case. This kind of attention to detail - to simply remove any possible source of discontent before it became an issue, was continuously, and clearly, foremost on the mind of every member of staff.

We enjoyed two breakfasts which were inclusive, and one lunch and one dinner, along with four rounds of cocktails. Yes - we walked to the town and enjoyed some of the amenities on offer there, but frankly, with such excellence within reach of our fingertips - why bother?

The view of the lake from the balcony of our room was spectacular, even through a midnight thunderstorm. The pool, jacuzzi, spa and gardens are all brilliantly maintained and were a pleasure to use.

We were exceptionally sorry to leave. Easily the best hotel I've stayed at during 2013.

We drove from Milan to Bellagio and had a great three days. It's very close to the town and the pool area was lovely. The room was a little small but adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful and was a great base for Lake Como.

Great hotel to base yourself in to explore Lake Como. My wife and I had 3 nights here in September 2013.
We traveled from the Cinque Terre by train to Milan then Como and got the slow ferry to Bellagio. Should have got the fast ferry but the times didn't quite work. It was a bit tricky getting large suitcases on and off the ferry amongst all the hordes of sightseers.
Once in Bellagio, the Hotel sent a porter to collect us from the boat - this was not advertised as part of the service, we had to ring them to ask directions before they offered to pick us up.
The room we had was one of the new comfort rooms on the terrace above the pool. It had 2 reserved deck chairs on the grassed terrace overlooking the pool, the lake and of course the mountains. The room itself was modern and spacious - a treat in Italy, with a spa bath, rain shower and good air conditioning.
The restaurant was hit and miss, we had one very good meal and one average meal. I have done a separate review of the restaurant.
We experienced great service from the staff who were friendly and efficient and would have be hesitation in recommending this hotel or staying here again.
While it is a little out of Bellagio itself this should not be a deterrent, a short walk into the centre only takes a few minutes and as there are relatively few hotel beds in Bellagio it is quiet in the early morning and late afternoons when the day trippers have gone.

Room Tip: Room 508 is next to the laundry and a little noisy with staff comings and goings.

This is the place to stay Bellagio. A little removed from the hurly-burly, but a quick walk to the heart of things. We had a spectacular view of the lake from our balcony, the service was excellent, the rooms were always cleaned promptly, breakfast was an adventure in itself. The infinity Jacuzzi was spectacular and there's a complete work-out center and spa. I would go back to his hotel in a heartbeat. Book early, if you can.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with patio or balcony with lake view. Booking early can help.

Stayed in two rooms at the hotel, first room didn't have a view of the lake but had a nice balcony on the 4th floor, we wanted a lake view so moved the second & third night to a room with a lake view. It was in a separate building from the main hotel but we loved it. It was a ground floor room with two lounge chairs, an umbrella and a small table with two chairs right outside the room. We had a beautiful view of the lake and it was very private. The room itself was dated but we didn't really spend much time in it. We were either walking around the town, riding in boats, relaxing in the pool or sitting outside. The breakfast that came with the room was good, plenty of choices. Location was perfect, short walk into the main town or into the little village on the back side.
