Very pleasant gardens near the centre of Bellagio. Not a cheap place to go and while we didn't go to many gardens in the area, we preferred Villa Monastero in Varenna as being a bit less manicured.

We visited in September and really enjoyed walking round the gardens. It would be amazing in the early summer when the rhododendrons and azaleas are out but still pretty at other times of the year.

We enjoyed walking round the grounds of the Villa Melzi. We found it was a good way to get away from the heat of the day and was an easy walk from the centre of bellagio.. The gardens were well maintained with lots of different trees and shrubs. However earlier in the year there would have been more flowers in bloom. You are unable to see the inside of the Villa.

Nice place...to see and to imagine what it must of been like back in the day. It takes about an Hr to see it all, and just outside the rear gates there is a great little restaurant to grab an espresso.

Relaxed atmosphere; well looked after gardens in an attractive setting within walking distance from the ferries.
