We used Cremona as a base to train into Milan. The train service was very unreliable on the day we went - about 30 minutes late both directions. Hotel is about 2kms from train station (7 euros by taxi). If I was to do it again, I'd stay closer to Milan, maybe at the last subway stop.
You know what you are getting staying in a place like this. Our room was clean and spacious. Hotel is in a quiet part of town so very little outside noise. I found the beds as comfortable as anything I've found in Italy so far. Free parking and hand carts & elevator to easily get bags to the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. For 59 euros you can't expect much more.
The downsides: our shower leaked water - basically a river that pooled up on the bathroom floor. We ordered extra towels to soak it up. Staff seemed to be aware of the issue. The wi-fi which we thought was free, was actually a pay service that we couldn't even get to work. The do have "free internet" on one computer in the lobby.
all in all we knew what we were getting when we reserved it and it served its purpose.
