The Museo Storico is not exactly a museum. Good work has been done using technology in order to show Bergamo's history, usingprojections & images as well as sounds and narration. Unfortunately the narration is only in italian so the non-italian speakers can't in fact understand and enjoy this project. My children who don't speak italian were expecting a lot (having read the museum leaflet) and they were very dissapointed.

The Museo Storico is a great little museum that displays the history of Bergamo in a completely unique way. Each exhibit, or room, is interactive and different in its own way. There are videos and clips talking about and showing important items and events in the history of Bergamo under Venitian rule of course, but there are more. One exhibit shows a map-like adventure where you follow the route from Venice to Bergamo. One is a chemist shop where you can open all the drawers to see what remedy is inside and how it used to be used. They make great use of video and projections to help tell every story. You can also use their tablets to scan items througout the museum to get additional information and some fun facts. It just adds to the experience and they are available in multiple languages! Plus the staff is truely knowledgeable and excited to share their knowledge with their visitors.

The history of Bergamo since about 1100 is shown in a very unique museum -- very little "real", but "virtual" -- done on overlapping screens, pull-out drawers that show spices, hard to describe but a very interesting and worthwhile experience. The man who sold us the tickets spent a lot of time explaining various parts of the displays and enhanced the experience very much. We had never seen anything like this before. Very well done.

Spent the evening from 8:00 to almost midnight at a black tie gala dinner at this beautiful museum. Appetizers and drinks on the balcony overlooking the valleys and the city, then multi-course dinner in a stunning event room. Service and food equally as incredible as the location. Director Visentin is an expert in his field and most gracious host.
