B&B La Casa di Campagna

Reviewed April 6, 2014

We stayed at La Casa di Campangna for four nights on april and were traveling as a pair (me, 18-year old girl and my mother). If planning to go to Bergamo, La Casa di Campagna is definitely the place to stay.
The owners of La Casa di Campagna, Laura and Miriam, are very hospitable and we were warmly welcomed. Both of them are wonderful persons! Miriam drove us from airport, it was only 10 minutes trip from airport to B & B. It is surprising how quickly the area changes to a beautiful countryside only after 400 meters from the big road. The area where La Casa di Campagna is situated is peaceful but not "dead", there are other people too.
Our room was one of the rooms of two, with own bathroom. I can't say a word of complaint, it was tidy and nicely decorated. Bed was good and neither light nor noise bothered us at night.
Every morning we got a great breakfast which included for example Italian ham, cheese, bread, fruit, yoghurt, coffee for your choice (cappucino etc.), cereals, some sweet pastries... Delicious! Every morning Laura were with us after having prepared breakfast and we could ask her if we had some questions about Bergamo or if we needed some tips. Laura also showed us her lovely animals, horses, dogs and cats!
La Casa di Campagna is situated for about 3 kilometers away from the old down, were most of the restaurants are. But it was no problem for us to walk from La Casa di Campagna to old down and back, sometimes twice a day, because we got to see beautiful Italian countryside views during walk. But it was lots of uphills (and downhills of course) so the right choice of shoes is crucial! Near La Casa di Campagna are also good possibilities for jogging but there are, indeed, lots of uphills.
We made a trip to Milano at one day and it was easy to first go by bus to railway station and then we find easily the right train to hop in.
I recommend this B & B for everyone. I don't think that staying in Bergamo could be more delightful!

Just a ten minute drive from aperitivi in bergamo and we arrived in the countryside and the lovingly restored La Casa di Campagna. Our room was immaculate with crisp sheets and rustic decor. The bathroom across the corridor was spacious and beautiful. Fresh pizza, baked bread, local cheese and mortadella for breakfast as well as the lavish buffet of cereals and jams. Many thanks Laura and Miriam. Especially with the postage help we received.

Definitely a place to revisit.

Stayed there from 24th to 28th of November. We very were satisfied with everything. Laura was very friendly and kind to us and the place itself is beautiful from inside and outside. Small details is a key word, because Laura knows how to take care of those things. Breakfast was excellent. On one day we missed a dinner because the place where we were supposed to go was closed, so we just called to Laura and asked that what other places she would recommend to us near by, instead of that she came to pick us up with a car and she took us to the place really close to the bed and breakfast and the dinner there was the best ever dinner me and my girlfriend have had. Although everything was in Italian and nobody really spoke English, it was the people and the food that made it unforgettable to us and it was not expensive at all. We would Definitely recommend La Casa Di Campagna to everyone travelling to Bergamo. We also visited Milan for 2 days as it is only 56 km from the train station and takes approximately 50 min by train.

Simply the finest in detailing, atmosphere, space, quiet location in the countryside adjoining lovely Bergamo, Italy..Put this on your bucket list and if you live in Europe return often like many of the other guests I met while staying at La Casa di Campagna. I arrived by train from Venice, solo, adjusting to the death of my husband and Laura met me at the Train Station and gave me the history of Bergamo from the Romans in 55 bc to the current time. We drove thru the "new" part of town and wound up around the upper old city then back the opposite side of the hill to a breathtaking valley and to the B& B. Laura encouraged me to visit her birth town of Iseo and the lake and alps. Beautiful and not one Rick Steves traveler in sight. A special treat was the piazza with special plantings. The churches rivaled and surpassed many in Venice.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are lovely and comfortable and have slightly different views.

A lovely and super friendly place for people who love countryside, nature, animals....quiet
Such tasty - country decor, very clean and super comfortable beds, the mattresses are absolutely top quality...divine and peaceful sleep.
a good choice for breakfast, also you can have the use of the kitchen dining area for evening meals...mostly bought at deli and heated up, or a salad...
the pl;ace is about 30 minutes walk to upper or lower Bergamo, through a lovely country lane, passing a stream and lovely trees, houses with horses and chicken...
Super friendly Laura, the hostess, always cheerful and helpful and kind, and her family, always there to help, from switching the heaters on to fetching and taking us at the airport...we have been already twice and we want to return again and again!

Room Tip: all rooms are lovely

Me and my husband stayed here back in May 2013 after seeing the amazing reviews on tripadvisor and the stunning photographs and I have to say when we got there it was even better than what I had imagined!
Laura came to collect us at the airport with one of her lovely little dogs and was warm, welcoming and really informative. I would really recommend arranging for her to collect you from airport as taxis are few in bergamo and a great deal more expensive.
When we arrived at the casa di campagna, I could not believe how beautiful it looked from the outside and the setting it was in. Inside was even better, we were in the triple room which was so stunning, it was so tastefully decorated just in the style I would choose in my own home. It had lots of choices of teas in the room for you to enjoy too which was lovely along with complimentary sweets. We had a shared bathroom and I wasn't sure about this before arriving as we had never shared a bathroom whilst being away before but it was not an issue whatsoever. Loved the bathroom, again the decor was so cosy and beautiful.
The views from your room and around the area are breathtaking and laura advised us of some nice walks close by, we visited the old town which was a lovely walk.
Breakfasts as mentioned by others was lovely, laura and her daughter are up really early to ensure all goes to plan and the choices are fantastic. Laura also recommended a nearby local restaurant we could eat at in the evenings and that was good, she even booked it for us.
On our second evening, me and my husband got back late from a trip to como and we could not find a taxi to take us back to casa di campagna and after calling laura, her husband came to pick us up and was so lovely, he even stopped to get us takeaway pizza as we had not yet ate.
Could not have been more delightful hosts and our room could not have been any more perfect!

We only spent one night in this B&B but highly recommend it.
Laura is a wonderful host and will help you with everything. We had to leave at 6am and our breakfast was prepared and left out for our early exit.
Rooms are beautiful, and the rest as already been said.
