Booked here for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Stayed in Room 2, it is very sizeable and well appointed. Large bed. Excellent bathroom in all respects. Bit of an issue with the disabled toilet which is high off the floor and leaves you dangling your feet if you are sub 6 feet tall. Worst IKEA pillows of all time = totally sleepless night, but at least there are the interminable church bells to ensure you dont doze off just before the rather unimaginative breakfast featuring nothing hot at all. Poor coffee too, which is some achivement in Italy.
The place is immaculately clean and perfectly located for the town. Front desk are frankly a bit too full of themselves and rather cold in approach. Preposterous bar prices ensure you have a very quiet evening. At over £300 plus tax for two nights , plus a booking fee set by the hotel this represents really poor value for money. More a serviced appartment than Boutique Hotel.
Also disappointing was the fact that we left a kindle in the bathroom, ( Totally our fault ) and by the time we realised and phoned 20 minutes later it had gone.
We stay regularly in Bergamo and would heartily recommend the Holiday Inn Express, superior in every way and a third of the price, if a little out of the way.More
