“Great family restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

We found this restaurant by accident and where happy to had the pleasure to enjoy. We had as the starter the selection of local specialities which was excellent and then the home made pasta. The restaurant is family business which started as butcher store and was in the time tranformed to a restaurant. I really loved the furniture and menu with the history. The house vine was great as well and I really enjoyed the atmosphere (no turist mostly local people). Prices are medium ( you can eat cheaper but as well not the most expensive one) If you want to feel the local flair i strongly recommend to visit

“Rip off for Tourists”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2011

We visited this restaurant for lunch as it looked very busy with locals which is usually a good sign. We both ordered pasta which was from a daily lunch menu. The menu was not priced but we did not expect to pay the prices we were charged. The pasta was very expensive compared to what we had paid elsewhere and we were also charged around 50% more for a half litre of house wine compared to prices charged during the rest of our two week holiday. The quality of the food was good but we suspect we were being ripped off due to the fact we were tourists.

Dear customers, we very much regret that you had a very wrong impression of our restaurant.
Our restaurant was opened in 1997 and we are very proud in saying that at the restaurant in the city center of Bergamo are considered as among the best in local money.
With our central location near to most hotels have many foreign customers, for this reason in September we opened a guest house with three full-featured suites.
Many tourists come in our club suggested by relatives and friends who have already visited us.
This is to make you understand that we are certainly not the least of thieves want to rob the tourists.
Our "house" wine is bottled Cabernet Sauvignon and the price charged is within the range of a wine of medium/good quality.
It seems strange, since you are so price conscious that you have not asked the waitress the price of a pint of red wine (7 euro).
You could order beers that cost less!
Our pasta (7 to 9 euros) is homemade and the portions are very generous offers from us, reflect our style.
The menu with prices is shown in the window outside the restaurant but in this case if you had doubts, you could ask the waitress.
I am very sorry and saddened to read that the quality and service were great but the
convenience is not.
It means that our message has not been implemented.
For us are important the freshness of food, good food, friendly service and attention do not go overboard with prices.
But I must also add, in all honesty, that we are not a “cafeteria”… the price should be adjusted to the type of catering offered.
At your disposal for any further clarification Marinella Valenti.
