My first choice always when I visit the Città Alta di Bergamo is the "Al Donizetti". The open place under the old arcades of the terrace at this restaurant, the atmosphere, the wine selection, the dishes and the service are absolutely a must during a visit to this wonderful city.
I recommend to taste a tris of pate de foie gras with marmelade and onion jam, for the main course a classical "tagliata" and one of the excellent red wines they will suggest you.
For sure, the cheese mix to close dinner was excellent as well.
