Under new ownership the charming young couple who now owns this hotel were beyond accommodating. Wonderful breakfast smaller rooms smaller bathroom but everything was so clean and fresh and nice. Not ritzy but fabulous price in a real good location too, walk to everything in just a few minutes

Breakfast great, homemade cakes were very nice, room had everything we needed including a decent sized fridge.we had a good size room and excellent terrace we will be back here for numerous years including next year great as a base to explore everywhere highly recommend this lovely little hotel

Our hotel stay prior to Santa Margherita was a disaster which I partially blamed on myself for having ignored the negative reviews on TripAdvisor, so I was a bit apprehensive upon checking into Albergo Fasce (as some of the older reviews are mixed). I can only assume that the ownership has since changed, as our stay was fantastic. The owner was very helpful and friendly -- she proactively advised on on touring the area upon check-in, with maps, timetables, and brochures, and was always available for guidance or assistance. The room was modestly appointed, but was clean and large and appropriate for the hotel grade (our quad room had a separate room with bunk beds for the kids, which was an unexpected treat for us and the kids). There was no A/C in the room, and it was a little warm in August, but there were two large fans provided to keep the temperature comfortable. The location was very close to the main business district, the beach, and the train station, so a great place from which to explore. The breakfast was friendly and tasty, and the quick laundry service was particularly helpful after a week of travels. One quick note on Santa Margherita -- we'd intended to use it as a launching pad from which to explore Portofino, but Santa Margherita was by far the more enjoyable of the two towns -- all the charm without the excessive pomp, and our favorite visit in Northern Italy.

We stayed here three nights in June 2013. The Fasce family really makes this small hotel special. They are so friendly and helpful if you need assistance in planning your day trips in the area or anything else. Mr and Mrs. Fasce are also both wonderful cooks and bakers and provide a very nice included breakfast which included meats and cheeses and home made breads and cakes baked by Mrs. Fasce. Location is also good, about a 8 minute walk down to the waterfront. Only minor glitch was the internet wi-fi signal was weak in room #4 but they offered to change our room. Our view from room #4 was too nice to change, very quiet and clean. Of course the Wi-Fi signal was strong in the lobby and breakfast room which was always open. Great value.

My parents, niece, husband and I stayed here for a week in September and enjoyed it immensely. The rooms were a good size and we loved our balconies. Breakfast was excellent and the location was terrific, but it was the service and personal touches which made this hotel special. Nothing was too much trouble for Florinda and every member of staff, but especially Luca and Rosanno.Their suggestions and recommendations were spot on and they conveyed genuine interest and warmth. We recommend this hotel highly and wonder if something has changed (these owners are quite new) or whether some previous travellers have had unrealistic expectations for the price they are paying. Santa Margherita accommodation isn't cheap. We are looking forward to a return visit!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with as few steps as possible.
