“Quiet, Clean, and Reasonable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

Stayed at Villa Gnocchi for 2 nights recently. Room was clean and the patio outside the room was nice to sip wine and take in the view of the valley and ocean below. Roberto was very accomodating and pleasant. He had good advice on the what to do, where to eat. Very reasonable price, good value.

There's nothing not to love about this place, it has the most amazing views and is close to San Lorenzo which is the local village with 2 good restaurants , 1 pizza parlour and a bar with fun locals .There's also a small grocery store which sells great cheese and meats for picnics at the best prices.
About 15 mins down a path is Santa Marguerita for the beach ,shops and restaurants, it is so beautiful there.

Roberto was there every morning at breakfast to advise you on walks and bus etc, he was very helpful and spoke excellent english.
We didnt have time to use the inviting pool as we did alot of walking but promise to return and stay longer next time
Roberto is a wonderful host who even picked us up and dropped us back to the train station .
Thoroughly recommened.

Room Tip: Visit the bar in San Larenzo for a presssco or 2 with locals

Roberto (owner) is so friendly and accommodating, that I never wanted to leave. Our room overlooked the Santa Margherita valley and onto the sea. The views were breath taking. Our fridge was stocked with local wines of the region. The swimming pool overlooks Santa Margherita, allowing picturesque views while wading in the pool. The value for this hotel is phenomenal. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Just returned from 5 nights at Villa Gnocchi. We couldn't fault it. Our 3 children loved the swimming pool. We loved the view. Roberto is a fantastic host (who speaks fantastic English), suggesting trips and advising how to get around by the excellent public transport. We were so glad we didn't stay in Portofino or Cinque Terre and were able to retreat back from the madding crowds after our lovely visits there.

We were only able to stay at Villa Gnocchi for two nights. Everything was pretty much near perfection - the view, the breakfasts, the room, the pool, the terraces. Roberto was kind enough to pick us up and drop us off at the train station and give us great suggestions for a hike to San Fruttuoso Abbey. We only wish we had been able to stay longer (we will most definitely return). If you're not fit, make sure you have a car, because the walk up the hill from Santa Margherita could be a challenge. We highly recommend the hike, swim, then boat ride from San Fruttuoso to Portofino (or SML) after the hike. Ask Roberto, who will happily share his favourite places with you. This is one special place! Thanks Roberto!!!

Room Tip: We asked for a terrace and got one, under the breakfast terrace. We do wish we had a room in the old...

This is the second time we have stayed with Roberto, and we are happy to attest how nice it is to stay here. Breakfast is excellent, with plenty for most tastes. Rooms are well equipped with ensuites, a refrigerator and air conditioning. The rooms with a balcony have a marvellous view of the town, while the ground floor rooms are ideal for families with small children. There is an excellent swimming pool, which is a great addition given the heat of the summer days.
Roberto is always happy to advise as to good restaurants, interesting excursions e.g. walking over the hills to San Fruttuoso, the bus timetables to and from the town and so on. The path to the town is steep, but relatively safe, and there is safe parking at the agriturismo. There is an excellent restaurant, Trattoria degli Amici, within walking distance in San Lorenzo. Overall, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Choose a balcony if you like a good view; choose a ground floor room for 4, if you have children. Br...

This is the second time we have stayed with Roberto and we are still amazed by his agriturismo. The rooms have balconies and a superb view down the coast, the breakfasts are very good and are taken outside on the terrace and the pool and garden are ideal for relaxing. The rooms are well equiped and Roberto keeps a chilled bottle of wine for your arrival. There is a cooling fan over the bed as well as air conditioning. It is an ideal quiet stop on the way down through Italy and the second time we have stayed there.Roberto is excellent at suggesting and organising trips and walks in the area without being overbearing. At his suggestion we walked up the hill and through the woods to San Fruttuoso then back by ferry to Santa Margherita and home up the hill by bus. What a wonderful day. The road to the agriturismo is steep but the parking is safe and private. There are three good restaurants and a food shop within walking distance. The walk down to Santa Margherita is steep but fascinating., definitely worth doing.

Room Tip: all rooms have a great view
