well worth a visit if you are in Santa Margherita, the steep but short lived steps up are very much worth the effort, cool gardens and ornate Italianate architecture .

Beautiful villa in beautiful grounds that can be enjoyed at your leisura and without any cost. Nice little cafe in the grounds that overlook the sea

It is a nice park but not for people with problems walking, it is up on the hill. You can take a little shuttle up there but the last one departs around 7 pm. Visit a nice church on the hill and a couple of villas. There is a small pond on the top with turtles that behave like pets. You can even feed them! Playing with turtles was the highlight of our ascent to this villa.

There is a steep climb up the steps to this villa but it's worth the effort for the wonderful views at the top over Santa Margherita and beyond, and the lovely gardens. We spent several hours just relaxing up here on a couple of occasions as it was surprisingly quiet. Look for the ornamental pond with all the turtles, especially if you have children. There is a small cafe with seats both inside and outside although we thought it was a little expensive. However, we watched the chef put the finishing touches to a delicious looking salade niçoise for a couple near us. We decided to pay to go inside the villa €5.50 per adult (take your National Trust card and you'll get a small discount) but there isn't a great deal to see and it's rather run-down. However, it has great atmosphere and the Murano glass chandeliers were beautiful. The magnificent white exterior of the church next door is dazzling in the sun and is a great landmark. It has a lovely ornate interior and on one of the days we were up there, they were preparing for what appeared to be an extremely lavish wedding. Even the preparations were worth seeing!
