“Stunning view!”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

I read some terrible reviews, and I can only assume they stayed in the rooms on the street side. We stayed in a room with a large balcony (shared with another room, but not an issue) with the Mediterranean right at our feet! The breakfast was light but very good and healthy. The location is fantastic...easy walk to the train station if you want to explore Cinque Terre, a fun boat ride to Portofino, and Rapallo itself is a lovely town to stay in. Wish we would have had more time! This hotel even has parking if you're driving like we were...it's first come first serve and only about 8 spots...we were lucky enough to score a spot, otherwise I don't know what you'd do. I would stay here again - best value!

This gem of a hotel surpassed all expectations. Located right on the water, with a balcony overlooking the sea, free breakfast (great coffee, cold meal though), free wifi, parking nearby for 13 euros (there really is no free parking at the hotel, I think there are 5 spots), an incredible restaurant, all for an incredible price, I really want to go back! From the hotel, you can walk 200 meters to a sandy beach or sit by the water outside the hotel on a rocky beach. You can also walk 100 meters to all shops and restaurants. The train is no more than 300 meters away as I saw it go by from the hotel. Why go to crowded Cassis, Nice or Cannes when you can go to Rapallo? Cinque Terra and Pisa are maybe 45 minutes - 1 hour south. Great spot! I would definitely pick this hotel as the best hotel on the water in Rapallo.

Room Tip: Pay the extra 10 euros and book a sea view. 312 was a great room for us.

Our room was small and basic, and very clean. We never did figure out how to get the tv to work, but we were so tired at the end of the day we didn't need it enough to call for help. The seaside view is gorgeous and the dining room is bright and airy with a view. The breakfast was a little too basic for this American, and the seafood lasagne(with baby squid and other sea creatures) was too much of a stretch for me. Again, the view made up for any shortcomings.

I've stayed at this hotel 3 times and was very happy there. The location is the best, get the seaview room. If you are lucky you can even park in the small lot in front of the hotel. The breakfast was very good for Italy. Rooms are small but clean, but we are not in the hotel except to sleep. We did walk to the train station to go to Cinque Terre and Comogli. We are staying here again in April of 2013.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view

The hotel has a great location beside the tower and is currently being renovated bit by bit from a former bank. The room was basic, but totally functional for a one night stay.
The lobby is light and airy and right on the sea front allowing great views along the town and the Med.
Breakfast was basic but good apart from the dreadful Nescafe coffee.....I am surprised that such an insult to expresso it was allowed across the Italian boarder! That said all else was good and the ricotta with honey fantastic for the morning.

Room Tip: Try and get one of renovated ones. Do not book unless you can if staying more than a couple of night...

Once again I find myself returning to this little part of paradise in Northern Italy. Rapallo ticks all the boxes for me accessible from Roma and Genoa International Airports by train. I love this hotel it has absolutely the best position in Rapallo spend the extra $$'s and book the seaview room you will not regret it. Accordingly and quite the norm in Europe the rooms are tiny but you can't beat the location and the view. Reception was very pleasant and helpful checkin was smooth and efficient. They have complimentary wifi in your rooms but as is the case in alot of Europe it doesn't always work that well. The signal is much stronger downstairs in the lounge and there are plenty of chairs overlooking the gorgeous harbour. Breakfast was to my liking I am more a fan of the European Continental Breakfast than the heavier western style breakfasts I enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice and Italian Breads and Jam's they also had cereal and fruit and freshly baked cake of the day delish !!!

I used their private beach access which is below the hotel 5 euro for a half day I thought was affordable and well worth it.

Tip: don't take the taxi they charge 12 euro for a 5 min ride, Hotel is 10 min easy walk from the train station. Also don't miss cocktail and aperitif hour starts everyday around 6pm at alot of the bar/restaurents buy a cocktail approx 7-10 euro and receive wonderful Italian nibbles there was so much food I didn't bother with dinner. Lastly allow yourself about 5 days here you will need it to see everything.

There is a finnicular walking distance from the hotel that takes you high into the mountains wonderful vista and loads of hiking tracks. The ferry runs from near the hotel on the promenade head north to Santa Margherita, San Frutrusso - wonderful place to swim in the med, and Camoligi a quaint fishing village great seafood restaurents serving swordfish etc and great shopping. You can also take the local buses very cheap and great vistas many real !!! Italian towns to visit.

Room Tip: Definitely spend the extra and go for a seaview room

Decided to stay in Rapallo as a launching spot to visit the Cinque Terra & other day trips. Absolutely the right decision both in staying in Rapallo & staying here at Italia e Lido. I love, love, love this hotel. What can I say, the views were second to none! Slept every night with the balcony doors open as the weather was in the high 70's for the 5 days we were there.

The room was very spacious, bathroom was a decent size but the shower stall was a bit tight as are the majority in Italy. The bed was very comfortable & the room was very clean. Breakfast was in the restaurant & it was the typical Italian breakfast. This one however gave you the ability to make fresh queezed orange juice & also had a toaster. The view from breakfast overlooked Golfo del Tiguella aka Bay of Silence. There are also tables outside to sit and eat. I'm not sure if they are only used at lunch time. We were here in late October and even though the weather was perfect it was considered the end of the season. The hotel is closing November 5ish & reopens December 22.

Across from the hotel in the sea, on a bed of rock is a castle built in approx 1549. It's a great landmark to find this hotel upon arrival in Rapallo & to find your way back to the hotel at night! The hotel is about a 5-7 easy walk to the train station & walkable to anything you could want to do in Rapallo. There are plenty of shops & restaurants & also access to boat excursions.

The ladies at the front desk were wonderful. Barbara was very helpful with directions, suggestions on where to eat & just an all around wealth of knowledge!

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as a matter of fact I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a seaview!
