This hotel needs to up its game, it is in a fantastic part of Italy indeed the world but needs a little fine tuning. Reception and pool staff very obliging. Staff at breakfast obliging but on the slack side. We had to ask for coffee - sometimes no one asked us. Breakfast finished @10.30 a couple of times retuned to the buffet just after and found it cleared - no member of staff had asked if we were finished, as is normal practice. Breakfast itself was ok - that is all. Beds were extremely hard. Finger marks on bedroom walls, bin not always emptied. We visited several beaches in rapallo, camoglia and santa margherita, 2 sun beds and umbrella cost between 23.5 and 25 euros. The beach affiliated to hotel charged 40 euros that they discounted to 25 - in effect no discount at all and on top of that she insisted we lay by the toilets - this was a Monday in sept - beach was not packed!! For obvious reasons we did or use this beach it used the one next door ran by a lovely Italian couple which was far superior. Decking around pool very annoying - the decking is loose and every time someone passes you your sun bed vibrates.

GHB is located in Rapallo a very convenient place to explore Liguria Hotel is renovated with nice verandas and marvellous view over the bay Room is comfortable but bathroom was very small, so small that even people with average height will struggle to take a shower. On the positive side personel is very experienced, friendly and polite and have suggested and booked for us many very good restaurants to eat. Parking was easy and cost free, free WiFi however is not available and costs 10 euros per day. Pool was clean and not crowded. Breakfast needs radical improvement Overall a very good hotel to stay

Room Tip: Room with sea view

Overall a very very nice hotel. All staff working are very kind and speak very good engish, they are more than welcome to answer any questions and have very good local knowledge of the surrounding area for food/restaurents/train station etc.

Decking and facility are very modern and very clean, the quality is very good and to a high standard (expected for the price)

There is no public transport to the city centre, it is about a 20min walk along the coast with a handful on inclined sections. It was reasonably safe but maybe not ideal of a lady on her own..
Around the hotel there is no shops within a 100 meters radius and one would have to go into the city centre.. there is a rocked beach 100meters from the hotel but this is a free small public "beach"

The down side is that there is no free wifi to hotel guest, i think there may have been an offer if booked via their website however free wifi was not an option and the cost of wifi was €9 a day per device.
Another down side is the taxi service/private hired car. The hotel will reccomend a private hire company which should be €100 from the airport to hotel. However when i booked we was quoted €120 however when the hotel booked our return to the airport (Genoa) it was €100 no honest reason to why it wasa inflated by €20 by the taxi firm. not the hotels fault, just a word of caution.

The breakfast was amazing with a very good and wide selction to pick from (one of the best breakfast buffet i have had).

Room Tip: 315 sea view

The hotel is a beautiful old grand dame, perched part way up the hill looking out to sea. It is a short walk from the town centre. We had a luxurious Deluxe double with a very comfortable bed and a lovely view of the sea from the balcony (excellent for overnight clothes drying). However the room really should have been shut down and refurbished – we had stained walls and carpet, and damp from the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fresh, delicious and plentiful more than made up for the slowness of the coffee service. Overall, we did have a comfortable and very relaxing stay, and I would visit again.

This was our third stay at this hotel. We stayed for two nights and both times eat at the rooftop restaurant. The food was fantastic but it must also be one of the best views ever. It has a good large pool. We had lunch in the restaurant downstairs which was also very good. It is a short walk into Rapallo from the hotel. We had a room overlooking the sea. Great view and very clean. Would love to return.
