The Castello is right on the waterfront so you can't miss it as you walk around the Rapallo shoreline. However, it's not open to the public so it's just a lump of rocks of some historical significance, explained in part by the English language signage. Don't expect too much.

While iconic for Castello, its basically a defensive observation tower for the port and not all that impressive. It is for viewing as you stroll by, with no entry. There is an English language sign which provides the history.

This Castello is a great attraction and the historical context is well worth exploring its significance. By no means unique but better persevered and appreciated here.

It is just to see from outside. No entry inside. It would be better if allowed inside to view the historic things. I returned with disappointment
