“If you are looking for nice view and the sweetest Italian family.........”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

We are a Danish family with 2 boys of 8 and 12 years who stayed at Sognando Villa Edera for the first time this summer 2012. Sognando Villa Edera is lying up in the hills. The apartment are very nice and all is very clean. The appartments are surrounded by a nice garden where it is possible to sit outside eating or just look at the beautiful view of Rappallo city in front of you or to the other side the green mountains......it is really nice and relaxing:-) There is also a really nice pool - from here you also have a great view of the nature. The owners house is just beside the pool which means you get a close insight in the Italian family style. They are very very kind, warm and helpful with all kind of information you need for the area - and it is possible to have fresh eggs, olive oil and vegetables from the mother who cultivate it all. We can not recommend this place enough!!

We stayed for 3 nights in mid-May in the Kiwi apartment. Received a warm welcome from Sara, who was very friendly and helpful. Good private parking. Lovely colourful garden terrace with a shady seating area and views across the valley. Smart modern apartment – big windows provide plenty of light and it has a good en-suite. The bed was a bit on the firm side and the kitchen could do with a few more cooking utensils, but otherwise everything was fine. There’s a very handy back road that takes you round the edge of the valley to Ruta (ask Sara for directions); great for visiting Camogli. If you like walking, we highly recommend the Parco di Portofino – park at Portofino Vetta (where there is a large public car park just before you reach the Portofino Kulm hotel) and follow the marked trails from there.

We stayed at Villa Edera Sognando during the first weeks of July 2011. To reach this Agriturismo you have to climb a nary steep road but it is worthwhile and after a few times you get used to it.

From the very beginning Sara and her parents make us feel at home. They are most charming hosts, always willing to accommodate their guests. The view from the swimming pool is really above expectations. The whole estate is very clean and the garden is perfectly maintained, primarily by Sara’s mother Rosanna.

The rooms (small studio’s) are very nice and with all comfort, every room has his own private terrace. For us there was just a small minus, as most studios are for 4 or more persons, there were a lot of children during our second week who makes it very noisy around the pool which is not equipped for.

The city of Rapallo is rather old-fashioned and it is not easy to find a parking space, but there are a lot of pleasant villages nearby where you can stroll around, such as Sante Margrite, Camogli, Chiavari ….

We really enjoyed our stay.

Sognando Villa Edera was an ideal place for peace and rest.
The pool was even more beautiful and larger than it seemed on the website. And the view on the Rapallo bay was marvellous !
The sea view we had from our apartment, Salvia, was also splendid.
We regretted that they offered no breakfast anymore, so we had to make our own breakfast. Sara and her parents were very helpful and kind people. Lots of possibilities for trips in the neighbourhood : Portofino, Cinque Terre ...
A place to come back !

It was the second time we stayed in Sognando Villa Edera. And again we had a great time. The villa is situated on a mountain near the center of Rapallo. To get there you have to navigate a typical, fairly small, Italian road. The family itselves lives in the villa next to the pool. They are very warm and friendly. You can clearly see and feel the love and devotion Sara and her family put into the house, the pool and the garden. We've stayed in the Lavando appartment for 4 days with our two sons (3 and 15). Our youngest son especially loved all the animals (dogs, cats, donkeys). The appartment was very comfortable and clean. The 'welcome' marmelaide was great :-). Sara we thank you and your family very much for the great service. We'll definitely come back again.

We stayed at villa Edera for 4 nights (now minimum 5) after leaving the Palermo - Genoa ferry and it was a great base for seeing the local arear including Cinque Terra & Portofino

Run by a the brilliant English speaking sara & her parents, Villa Edera has just been converted to 5 new self catering units and equiped with all the basic needs and in prime condition

We stayed on the second (top) floor but because of the mountain side position you actually walk down to this from the private parking. We had a distant view of Rapallo and each apartment has its own small section of garden/ outdoor patio

There is a lovely infinity pool higher up near the families own residence, and nothing was too much trouble. Sara even arranged to pay for my parking ticket (with my money, got late on a Sunday when i was tired after a long days travel from Sicily!)

We bought their home made Olive oil & Lemoncello

The only downside is the 1.2 mile drive up a winding twisty road, but if you can manage that its worth the effort

I was not very happy in this place: the reviews seemed so good, or most of them anyway, but the road to get there was awful, the parking facilities atrocious and the rooms small and without any sunlight (unless you left the front door open and lose all your privacy). The pool is small, but what I really did not like was the breakfast: tiny portions of mediocre cake (home made apparently!!!) and no fresh bread. Too expensive for what it is, a real disappointment.
