“Nice spot for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

We stopped at Pasticceria Gimelli for a lunch by the harbour pretty much by chance. There were many other options available near-bye. A couple of friends had just eaten and recommended it to us. We shared a very nice salad Caprese followed by excellent and delicious pasta dishes; mine with the ubiquitous for the area basil pesto and my wife with seafood. Service was friendly but a little slow but the great food made up for that and we were in no hurry. All in all, very satisfying.

“Basic Training Required”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2014

OK, this was in the week before Easter on a windy day, so not the busiest time of the year in Portofino, yet two simple pasta dishes were delivered so far apart that one of us finished before the other was served. Surely you learn at Restaurant School 1.01 that you serve a table together, not serve the same dish to three different tables together.

Oh, and by the way I was wondering where the flavour in tinned spaghetti hoops came from. Grandma Gimelli apparently!
