My husband and I ate here every other night and we were in Portofino for 8 nights. The owner is warm and welcoming. The waitress is terrific and helpful in suggesting dishes to try. The food was always hot and delicious. It fills up fast, so I would suggest getting there early to eat.

Thank Marie C

Cannot understand why folks are clamoring to get a table here. The owner/manager acts overwhelmed, is unpleasant with his staff and just didn't seem happy to be there. The food was so so. Good pasta, strange pizza.

Don't get taken in by the overpriced average food places at the top of portofino harbour. El portico is just a little up the street off the square opposite Pucci and is far and away a better casual dinner place. We booked a table for 9pm at about 6pm which turned out to be a good idea as there were at least 4 other tables waiting when we arrived for our booking. The pizza was excellent as was the pesto lasagne. Their olive oil to accompany the bread was one of the best oils we had in all of italy. The place was packed to the rafters the whole time we were there. I wouldn't bother with dessert here though as its not there focus. Grab a gelato at one of the two excellent places near the square instead.

We enjoyed a really nice anniversary celebration here. The antipasti were varied and good quality, the pizzas tasty (though not traditional Italian style - lots of cheese and toppings). The Pinot Grigio was good value and very pleasant. Best of all was the charming waitress and the lovely ambience just off the main harbour in portofino.

Although called a Pizzeria there are many delightful things on the menu. Most items are prepared in their wood fired oven. The veal with rocket salad was absolutely killer delicious. Large breaded baked cutlet that practically covered the plate topped with fresh crispy arugula. Across the table the wife had gnocchi with a very tasty basil sauce. We had to trade plates and decided that both dishes were equally off the hook.
The places is located slightly up the hill and not on the water this makes for a less expensive venue. In addition the bread and 1/2 liter house wine just made everything complete, completely and absolutely wonderful lunch.
