Maybe the problem with our impression of tis place lies in fact that we came here straight from Tuscany where we had such a pleasant stay for less charge then here. Maybe the problem was in the weather, because it rained and we had to cut our Cinque terre trip short. But maybe all these are just the excuses that we went trough before we realised that the main problem was 1. that the place really isn't as it is on the web pictures (plus we've booked Tre Fre but we got DaNe apartments) 2. the lady that we spoke with and do all the arangements on spot was really peace of work. First, of we got lost in one way street quater of town, and of course we caled here for the directions from ONE street that like 100 m away and she didn't know where was that. The other issue was park space in front which of course wasn't awailable so you can imagine car full of baby stuff and us carrying it like 500 m away (we had to pay extra, cause her friend ownes the garage which is"much safer than parking the car on the street, but of course it is up to you to decide what u will do". So, of course we payed: You also have to pay all the money in advance and of course you can't leave a day earlyer than planed because that "is not her problem". You can imagine slamming doors all night, smoke getting in your rooms from the room next door (of course NO smoking signs are there but nobody from managemets are there during the night. Then, the IKEA bad was broken, sink was sealed.... You have to understand that we had traveled all over the world and this is not some spoiled turist review because we have seen plenty of bad places and stayed in ones and never complained. But the simple fact here is: the rooms need renowation, they are too expensive and the managament needs to attend some friendly classes:)) to summon this review: the only good point for this place is the location near train station but in my opinion that does not justify the price

As other reviewers have noted the location of this hostel / B&B is second to none - it is a stone's throw away from the train station and yet you don't hear any railway noise whatsoever. If you happen to be driving however, you will certainly experience a lot of difficulitiy trying to find an empty spot to leave your park.

The room I was given was not in the main building, it is about 20 metres down the street in a different building. The room was spacious but what they did not tell you is that room was a converted lavatory complete with a hand-rail for disabled access on top of what used to be a toilet bowl. Isn't this charming? Isn't this what the Italian travel experience is all about? Since we were exhaused when we arrived and were only going to be there for one night, we settled in and left immediately next morning.

We will not be returning to this joint for their misleading and deceptive business conduct.

The rooms are in a fantastic location in between the train station (1 min walk) and the main pedestrian street (2 min walk) in town. The room we had (Purple Room) was very small but had all of the necessities including air-con, fridge, TV and lots of information about Cinque Terre and surrounding area. Although modern and stylish (read: IKEA), the quality of the fixtures and furniture in the room were average at best. The shower head in our bathroom was broken and tiles were missing from the shower. The bed was a small double and soft/lumpy. As a guest of the B&B, you get a special discount at a neighborhood restaurant (E15 for 3 course meal) - use it because the restaurant is very good and excellent value.

This b&b was a delight. We had a clean and nicely decorated room with a great warm feeling .
I would recommend it to anyone. It was exceptionally clean, just re-done, stylish even.
Good value for money and good base to get to Cinque Terre.

We had two double rooms booked here and whilst both rooms were clean and neat we noticed that the rooms did varied. The green room (which was on the street side) was more spacious but had the world's smallest double bed. The purple room (on the railway side) was smaller in size but had a normal sized double bed. Our guet staying the green room had enough space to store their luggage and were able to move about the room freely. Both room had some noise, be it street or train, but nothing that was too disruptive - however should you be a light sleeper this may not be the place for you.

The staff were very friendly and there was lots of information available about the area and sightseeing options etc. After booking we had an email asking what time we would arrive and a further text message on the day confirming the time, so that someone could be there to meet us. Unless there are guest checking in or it is when the rooms are being made up in the morning, there are no staff on site.

For breakfast you are given a voucher to take to a nearby cafe which was easy enough to find. Whilst I like the concept of going somewhere local for breakfast rather than eating in your hotel, the breakfast was rather average. Coffee was very good however.

It was a perfect base for us to explore Cinque Terre from.

We booked through another website and were impressed how funky and quirky each room looked but we arrived o find no way in to our accommodation. A local told us we had to call them, so we found a little business card on the wall and called. Someone arrived within 5 mins to let us in to the old apartment building (covered in scaffolding and shade cloth) that housed not only the roms of Casa Dane but also another 'boutique' with the word 'tre' in it. This is where we were deposited. The room was so ridiculuosly tiny you could hardly move. We couldn't even store our two bags in our room, but one had to be locked in a broom cupboard that serviced the whole apartment block and we did not have the key for it! The bathroom was literally the size of a broom cupboard ( I know this is Eurpoe and had taken that into account), but it was just silly. I'm not that big, and I was bumping my knees and elbows on everything. And the shower was moldy, the clip that held the shower on to the pole was broken and a foul stench was eminating from the sewage. Not nice! We couldn't open the windows properly because of the scaffolding on the outside of the building, so needless to say, there was no view to be had. The piazza opposite seemed a bit seedy, but caused no problems. The girl who attended to us on check in was very pleasant, though, but not on site for any questions. Thankfully we bumped into her in town so could organise to collect our bag from the broom cupboard! Probably the most disappointing thing of all was that the bed (a TINY double) was collapsed on one side, so my lovely husband slept in a ditch for two nights.
