I stayed 3 nights at this wonderful hotel. the couple who own the place with their beautiful daughter are pleasant and very very helpful. Simple breakfast made every morning by the owner herself. seating area was very charming, inside and on the terrace. Most of the pieces of furniture were made by hand by the owner himself. very unique, artistic and would definitely stay there again.
location is perfect too! 5 minutes walk away from the port and bang in the middle of the shopping area.

The Albergo della Spezie is really cute. It's also in a great spot. It's a 10-15 minute walk down a pedestrian mall from the La Spezia Centrale train station and a 5 minute walk to the harbour.
The Albergo is a bright little haven inside and staff are quite friendly.
The Albergo is on the 1st floor of the building. The lobby seems is a bit dank at first, but we soon felt that the added security of a off street entrance was a plus (not that we ever felt unsafe in La Spezia).
On the down side the rooms are a little small, but they are cute and modern, no smaller than other Italian hotel rooms, and if you're only in La Spezia for a few nights the charm of this Albergo totally makes you forget the smallish room.

Our stay here was excellent! The family was very genuine and helpful as if we were apart of their family. They speak English very well to help us none Italian residents. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast, consisting of pastry's, cereal's, fruit and American coffee as well as espresso's if you wanted them. The location was in the city center, which made for quick walk to local restaurants, shopping and site seeing. Our main reason for staying in this city was to visit the Cinque Terre. We loved it so much we stayed an extra day to visit the 5 small towns which are quickly accessible by train, the first town is only 10 minutes away. The train station was also a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. All in all we were very satisfied with out stay.

we stayed in Albergo delle Spezie for one night. the rooms are clean, nice bathroom. the rooms are decorated very pretty, the owner made a lot of the furniture himself. gives you a lot of cool ideas. the hotel is located in a very nice and quiet area. near a lot of trendy stores, nice restaurants and bars. the owner was very nice and helpful with good tips on the area. breakfast was very good served in a lovely balcony. we loved it.

I went there with my boyfriend to visit this lovely part of Italy. The hotel is ideally located, near to the boat arrival/departure and 10 minutes walking to the train station to go viist the Cinque Terre. The rooms are quite spacious and we liked the hotel's eco-friendly touch. The beds are not very comfortable though, and the breakfast is not good - that is not Italy's strengh :) The hosts gave us good advice on things to do and were really helpful. All in all a good stay!
