This hotel is a great option if you do not want to stay in central Spezia or directly on the water in CinqueTerra. We wanted a place where we could park the car and spend a nice evening before touring Liguria and E R. The hotel is clean and is right next to a hiking trail.

We found this hotel ok for an overnight stay. You would need a car for sure. Room was ok size. Bed uncomfortable. Paid quite a lot in comparison with other hotels in the area which seemed nicer

My husband and I needed a stop-over near Cinque Terre prime season. We wanted something w/ parking and not too far from the highway. Hotel Nella hit both those points and offered A/C and a friendly staff.

Room was small and basic, but very clean. The hotel served our purpose and offered a more than fair value for money this time of year. That said, if you're looking to spend time in your room or want anything other than basic accommodations, it might not be the place for you. Also, as I said, a small room-- the shower was tiny to the point of being difficult for my 6'4" spouse. It wasn't a major for one night, but if we were staying for a longer period, would have been an uncomfortable annoyance for him.

Our fault for not pre booking, though very helpful and accommodating.
Rooms were spacious and very clean with all we could need.
Breakfast was plentiful and included in price.
Free Wifi and parking was a bonus
Set high above the town of Spezia it would take some work to get here without a car.
Didn't have dinner the night we were there and used the Pizza restaurant opposite.
Overall a friendly and pleasant experience.
Thank you

Stayed here for one night early June-2011, arrived late just in time to catch the restaurant open before 2200pm. This seems to be a family run setting with all the ammendities you can expect from a Toscany setting. VERY italian in both foods (retaurant), rooms (small, but quite clean, basics) and the overall feeling of medium qulity and looseness. Nella is VERY secluded from La Zpezia and a car is highly recommended here as you will be in the hills above the city. The area is quiet, green and village like with a spectacular view of La Spezia and the mediterranian sea if you turn right and have a look over the hills. Cozy enough for short stays - great service and ambience!

The air conditioning is great! The rooms are clean and have everything you might need.
The included breakfast is more than adequate.
The staff are super friendly and helpful - and speak excellent English.
The hotel is way up the mountains, yet a short drive into La Spezia, Cinque Terre and Porto Venere.
The restaurant is lovely - partly outdoors and you are up in the peaceful mountains, so it is very relaxing.
There is free internet access - really, I can't think of any complaints - we would stay there again in a heart beat!! Free and easy access parking too.

The pictures don't do this place justice. It's located in the hills above La Spezia rather than in the town. Personally we loved that about it; it was quiet and beautiful, and just a short drive down the hill to the Cinque Terre train. The room was spacious and had a balcony. The bathroom had a fabulous shower with body jets. The restaurant was excellent - my husband said the lamb was the best he'd ever had - and there's another wonderful restaurant just across the road with an amazing view. There are hiking trails just up the road from the hotel, and even in the height of the tourist season, I didn't come across anyone else on them. If you're looking for a quiet spot with easy access to Cinque Terre, this fits the bill.
