My husband and I stayed at Miramare Apartments and Suites for 5 nights and had a fabulous stay. Absolutely perfect! The apartment was fully equipped and very spacious. Lucia made our stay very comfortable with much friendly, helpful information. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we nearly missed our flight - getting our days confused! Thank you Lucia, for reminding us of our booking out date...... Quite funny now ...Never packed so quickly!... The views from the balcony and pool were beautiful. We love swimming in the ocean, but the pool was excellent and spent quite some time there. The small village, La Lizza, where Miramare is located, has very friendly people. Always a Bon Journo in the mornings. Great atmosphere, with a small shop handy a couple of paces away. Fresh bread, cheese, prosciutto, etc available. Have to remember the shops close for their "siesta". Would definitely stay again.

These apartments are fantastic. Set high above La Spezia in a small village called la Lizza with wonderful views across the bay they have everything you need. If you are travelling by car you must not lose your nerve and keep following the signs along the narrow roads until you reach the village. There is plenty of parking around the village but it does get busy in the evenings when lots of people come to the Seventh Heaven restaurant next door to Miramare

We stayed for one week in apartment media b which was extremely spacious and had a separate small lounge. The kitchen area was well equipped with a toaster and kettle essential for English guests as well as a fridge. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample space for storage. The bathroom was large with a big walk in shower and fluffy bathrobes. Each flat has an outside terrace area which goes down to the pool. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds and has views across the bay and the pool is deep and only slightly salty so perfect for swimming.

La Lizza is tiny but there is a small community shop next door which stocks all you might need, a restaurant serving pizza and grills and on the other side of Mira Mare a working mens club with a bar which is well worth visiting. We went on a night when Italy were playing Bulgaria in the World Cup qualifiers and there was a welcoming and good atmosphere.

Lucia is extremely welcoming when you arrive and gives helpful advice on where to visit and restaurant recommendations. If the weather is good however you just want to relax in the complex and take in the views and ferries and ships coming and going.

Room Tip: Apartments are more expensive but think worth it if you are staying for any length of time as have a terrace for sitting out

This venue is superb! Breath-taking views from the terraces, infinity pool and the friendliest owners ever. Lucia was very welcoming, taking the time to understand what we wanted to do during our stay and making reservations for us at the top restaurants locally. When we booked the venue we had a bit of confusion around double-booked rooms which meant we were asked to change suites for one night - for the inconvenience we were offered a night free and a bottle of wine - that's the sort of service which keeps your customers happy. The surroundings are beautiful and although La Lizza is a quiet little village in the hills you still have access to the local shop and restaurant. The hotel was clean, beautifully presented and maintained - it is clear that a lot of effort has gone into converting this venue from a school into a top notch hotel. I would recommend anyone visiting the area to stay here. The only downside (if any) is that there are no sandy beaches within 30 minutes of this location, though you do have the cinqueterre on your doorstep.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong - you will have a great stay regardless of room.

The appartment (with individual terrace) was very good: airco, terrace, swimming pool, free wifi in commom places and some appartments, tv, very good bathroom, little kitchen with fridge, two plate cooking place, microwave. The coffemaker is an italian way coffeemaker which needs some experience. It is not easy to make immediate a second coffee as the coffemaker becomes very hot. But of course you can use the microwave to boil water and to make instant coffee.
Small shop besides the building. La Spezia has different shops and we certainly advise to use Terraza which is a huge shopping mall with a huge Coop mall and e.g. Media World, h&m,...
The use of a car is very necessary as public transportation to La Spezia has little frequency. On the contrary the public transportation to Portovenere is very good (bus trip takes 0h30).
In the swimmimg pool there is no place to stand, so it is not ideal for children who cannot swim.
The reception by the houselady is perfect as she personnally goves many tips for restaurants, and things to do.
Bsides the appartment is a pizzeria with a good view on the city of La Spezia.

Room Tip: The room for two persons with individual terrace offers ore privacy then the rooms with a terrace to share, although the latter have more than sufficient space.
