“Great location near train station!!”
Reviewed June 15, 2011

We tried to book something in one of the Cinque Terre towns but nothing was available so this looked like the next best option. It was fantastic because it was literally a moments walk to the train station but that did not negatively impact the stay (noise, crowds etc). Nice room, great staff, no negatives, and it was a breeze to hop on the train each day and pop over to whichever town we wanted to go to. Definitely recommend it as a starting point for the Cinque Terre.

We were concerned that as this hotel was in the town of La Spezia and near to the station it would be noisy. Not so! It is a gem of a hotel. The staff are very friendly. It is well positioned to get the train into the Cinque Terra and no distance back to the hotel from the station after a long day of walking. The rooms have all the amenities and are very comfortable and there is an enormous buffet breakfast. Our only downside was that having booked spaces for two cars for the 4 days we were there the cost was more than we had expected at 18 euros per day per car, we thought that rather steep. We had not been advised of this when booking. Other than that we would happily stay here again but maybe not use the parking!

Room Tip: We had rooms at the back which were quiet.

This hotel has spotless , comfortable rooms , a quirky breakfast room ( entry from 2 levels ) with great views and friendly helpful staff.
With the station only 50 m away ( but remarkably with zero train noises ) we found that 'doing' the Cinque Terra was a pleasure we spread over 3 days.
Buying the daily pass meant we caught trains to various CT stations ( usually only 10 -20 mins) to walk / explore / eat / enjoy.
Having a daily pass meant we could return to the hotel for shower / pre dinner drinks ( thanks to the delightful Jennifer ) , and then if we so desired return to one or other of the CT towns for evening meals.
A relaxed way to see a beautiful part of Italy.

We truly enjoyed staying here -- the staff really went out of their way to be helpful--especially when the international cell phone we obtained at home didn't work (we were picking up our daughter from a semster abroad in Florence)--and we had to purchase a new cell phone and then decipher a technical manual in Italian into English. How patient and gracious the folks were behind the front desk in helping us!! The breakfast in the dining room was top notch, the rooms were comfortable, and clean. We trulu enjoyed staying at this hotel while taking day trips to Cinque Terra--as the train station is 50 yards away. We hope to return to this hotel again--and will highly recommend it to our friends and work colleagues as a nice place to stay at a reasonable cost.

We spent 2 night here to use as a base for a long day trip to Cinque Terra, for that it was PERFECT! The staff was very accomidatinghelping us in every way they could. The train station is just short walk from the property. The property was old, but clean an updated. A good value for a stay in La Spezia.

This hotel was conveniently located very near to the train station and also to downtown La Spezia. The lobby area was very nice (the rooms not as much so) and the breakfast in the morning provided a good selection of foods and drinks. We arrived early, before our room was ready, and the staff was very helpful with taking our bags and stowing them for us so that we could go tour Cinque Terre. On the down-side, we had requested a double bed and ended up with two singles instead and there is only one very small elevator to service the whole hotel.

This hotel is walking distance from the train station to Cinque Terre. In front of the hotel are charming orange trees. The breakfast here was very nice. The hotel had one tiny elevator to the rooms and rooftop restaurant. It could only fit one person and their luggage at a time. The bathroom in the room has been completely renovated and very modern. Yet there was no mirror in the bedroom which is odd for a hotel.
