We and our extended family enjoyed our stay in this very spacious and well-kept, well-stocked flat. Georgio was very attentive coordinating our check-in and providing all the comforts of home...including drinking water, coffee, plastic plates & cups, shampoo, soap etc.
The beds in the back two rooms were very comfortable. Thank you for the great nights sleep!!!
We MAY have under estimated the amount of stairs and the lack of air-conditioning....
luckily there were 3 beautiful bathrooms so we could all shower & cool off when we made it back to home base during the hot & humid July days that we visited Genoa! Thank goodness also, for the fans!!!
The other downside was for the kids who were in the bedroom with two beds - right off the living room. For some reason, the kids all were covered in bites from maybe mosquitoes- maybe something else. Just know that there are no screens for the windows and remember to bring the bug spray or some sort of protection if visiting in the summer.
We enjoyed the restaurant at the bottom of the building right beside the entry (Tristano & Isotta ) Great pesto focaccia, pizza, and local pasta.
A nice breakfast place (pasticceria de caruggi) is also one or two blocks over toward the plaza and San Lorenzo Cathedral.
LASTLY, when looking through TripAdvisor photos... realize that you may need these pictures as visual clues to locate the flat when you arrive. Our phone GPS systems did not work very well in the streets of Genoa and efficient street maps are also hard to come by.
Went to Genoa with four friends in April and stayed at Giorgio's Casa Ripa Maris apartment. A great place to stay, very central, close to the Metro and shops.
The apartment has five large bedrooms and three bathrooms each with showers but no baths.
The apartment is spacious and very clean, and the Wy-Fi works great. I only spoke to Giorgio on the phone as one of his friends met us at the apartment
on arrival, but he was very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English.
If you're looking for a place to stay in Genoa I would definitely recommend this
Excellent location in a small street off one of the main squares in the city centre. The apartment has 5 large bedrooms, three bathrooms and a large kitchen diner. The furnishings are simple but modern and we had everything we needed for our stay. There is no living room as such but that didn't bother us as the kitchen is a natural place to meet and chat. Maximillian showed us round, bought coffee and water for us and gave good advice on where to go in the city. Genoa has the edginess of a working port but all the charms of a mediaeval city. You can walk or take a bus to all the sites so no need for a car. The only drawback with the apartment is some late night/early morning noise from the pizza takeaway outside and some people might find the four flights of stairs a bit tiring although there is a tiny lift.
The apartment was perfect for a large group and ideally situated in the centre of Genoa allowing easy access to everything port bus and metro and loveley restaurants within walking distance the owner was very helpful and met us to take us to the apartment
The apartment was excellent, clean and as described, perfect for a large group. Our group visited Genoa in October to study architecture and experience the city, the apartment is in an excellent central location, within walking distance to many of the attractions. Our host was very accommodating and helpful both before and during the trip it was easy to contact him for any advice. We would definitely stay here again!
Our group of 8 stayed for 2 nights – we had a great time. The apartment is in a great location and very comfortable. There is no parking/vehicle access, so we had to park at a parking station. We had a tall “people mover”, but that wasn’t a problem because Georgio researched and found a nearby station that could take our vehicle. Georgio was a great host – he met us at the car park and helped us carry our bags, and then met us when we left to take our bags back up the hill. We were blown away by his helpfulness. He left us his mobile number in case we needed any advice during our stay (eg restaurants etc).
The apartment is great – very spacious and well appointed. It’s on the 3rd floor, but there’s a (small) lift. There are plenty of nearby dining options and a supermarket only a few minutes’ walk away.
Everyone in our group would highly recommend this apartment.

This appartment is really something else. 5 bedrooms and 3 showers located in a beautiful spot in the hart of Genua. Everything you need for a nice stay is in the appartment. All the hotspots of Genua are very close in the vicinity and the caretaker is a terrific host.
