This hotel is close to everything you need to see in Genova. The staff is so helpful when it comes to give you advice on the must sees in the area. The rooms are really nice. My room had a balcony, and the bathroom was clean.

We were greeted by Augustino and his gorgeous dog Tommy. Despite his inability to converse in English Augustino came across as welcoming, friendly and charming. He got his daughter, Rebecca, who is able to speak a number of languages, including English, French, German and Spanish as well as Italian, and was equally charming. Seeing that we were wilting in the heat she kindly gave us a couple of bottles of cold water. The accommodation is on the fourth floor (with lift) of a wonderful old building just a short walk from the Brignole train station and the major sights of the old town. The room was sizeable with room to sit. Unfortunately, no air-con means you have to leave the window open letting in Mosquitos and the noise from the street during the night. Breakfast was provided at a nearby cafe with delicious croissants and coffee. All in all, very good value for money, great location and would stay there again if we return to Genova.

Room Tip: The numbering system of the street is in the usual Italian confused state. Look for the large numbers on each building not the small numbers for each shop. Just a few metres before the arch as you walk from the station.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Olympia hotel. The owner was very kind and had the cutest little dog! Thank you so much for your hospitality. The location was great and was the perfect place for viewing the city.

Augustino is the very charming owner of this hotel, which is perfectly situated near the old historic centre of Genova. The rooms have several sizes, we stayed in a smaller one, but still good value for money. The rooms are clean and the furniture is IKEA and new. Perfect spot for shopping or site seeing. You can park the car in the garage of the shopping mall COIN opposite the hotel for 12 euro's a day.

The rooms have no airco, so you have to open the windows. If you have a room at the street side, you cannot open the windows at night, the noise is too loud! So ask for a room in the back or at the side of the building and you'll be fine. Also the house numbers are changed, so the building shows up at the wrong spot on the navigation of the car or other online maps. It's directly opposite the entrance of the COIN shopping mall.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back, so the noise of the very busy street in the front of the hotel doesn't bother your sleep!
