I imagine that this park, if it was properly maintained, would be absolutely stunning. Unfortunately it isn't- paths are covered with weeds, there are very few helpful sign posts so you can easily miss out large areas of the park, lots of routes are blocked off, and the free map you're given at the entrance isn't particularly clear. The lake area with the follies around it is pretty, but it is quite sad to see the park in such a poor state of repair. I have read that there is an underground cave complex which you used to be to explore on a small boat- this sounds amazing, and this place really could be great, but it needs a LOT of work and investment first. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, or small children who are unsteady on their feet!
